jonw440 187 #1 Posted November 25, 2021 I am picking up a pair of the Plastic WH weights on Saturday. They do not come with the 4 bolts. What size and length do I need? Thank you.

squonk 41,040 #3 Posted November 25, 2021 Yup. Length depends on the dish of the wheel.
JCM 9,130 #4 Posted November 26, 2021 Okay, stupid question time. So are carriage bolts correct to use inserting them from behind the wheels through to the outside then a flat washer and nut leaving an exposed thread on the outside? Out of all the weights I have ever used I always had to supply my own hardware. Seems I may have been doing it wrong since 1989 by installing the flat washer on the outside with nut and lock washer on the inside with a regular bolt. @squonk & @Achto Length does vary a bit. squonk 41,040 #5 Posted November 26, 2021 Stock WH cast weights have the square hole so the bolts on those go in from. . the out side. I believe the plastic ones have found holes so the bolts go in from the backside. 1

JohnD 145 #7 Posted November 26, 2021 The weights on my C-175 have 8.5" bolts. I don't have carriage bolts (yet), so I do need to get a wrench/socket on both ends when tightening. This is a good reminder that I should pick some up.
Pullstart 62,809 #8 Posted November 26, 2021 Make sure, that if you use the carriage bolts with the heads in the wheels, chop off the excess length once you get the nuts on the outside! Your shins will thank you, ask me how I know!
ri702bill 8,294 #9 Posted November 26, 2021 (edited) As mentioned, length depends on rim width and dish. I added 2 flats to the carriage bolt heads so I could reverse them from what is shown and still grab them with locking pliers from the outside, nylock nuts on the inside. Gouged up the bottom of a few house shingles having them mounted as shown. Bill Edited November 26, 2021 by ri702bill
wallfish 16,986 #10 Posted November 26, 2021 I just use adjustable length bolts. LoL Perfect fit every time for every weight or rim combo possible All thread is cheap, available and has many uses .
