Maxwell-8 4,277 #1 Posted November 25, 2021 My raider 10 has a plastic fuel tank in the dashboard. It is cracked beyond repair. So I want to replace it, but WH gastank are unfindable. And I prefer a metal tank. I already tried a Honda GX390 tank, but it is to high and the hood won't close. Do you guys have any idea, for a possible replacement option? I currently have this B&S pushmower gastank on it.
Tuneup 1,433 #2 Posted November 25, 2021 Of course, I don't know what machines are popular (and plentiful in the dump) in your corner of Europe. Over here, we could scrounge for a Tekumseh tank. They were steel and attached easily to minibikes. I would imagine a Tek is fairly rare over there? We really should set-up a used parts pipeline to y'all. 2
ebinmaine 67,593 #3 Posted November 25, 2021 I have a great preference for the look of metal tanks on my tractors. Here in the states I can get a tank from a 60s tractor with no problem. There are other brand or other machine tanks that will fit with work. Older generators, rototillers etc have a "stand-alone" engine with an engine mounted tank. If you have a salvage yard with small engines or machines that might be a place to look. I don't remember the usable size off the top of my head... 10.5 inches long (?). Measure carefully and see what's there. Odds are you'll have to modify the fuel tank shelf with a hole saw or jig saw.

SylvanLakeWH 25,598 #5 Posted November 25, 2021 What about cutting the circular part off the tank you’re using and fit it in the area square with cap towards steering wheel …? Couple zip ties and you’re done… Just a thought… 1
oliver2-44 9,759 #6 Posted November 25, 2021 Small world. I just parted out a 1990's Toro push mower and have a plastic tank just like that laying on my workbench. It will become a nurse tank to test newly found engines.
JoeM 7,874 #7 Posted November 25, 2021 I know you prefer metal but that may be tough. When working n the C141 truck project i had this in mind. (ended up with a predator with its own gas tank) Not to bad of a fit and still available.
roadapples 6,983 #8 Posted November 25, 2021 You can buy replacement parts for predator and other brands. Maybe a fuel tank.....

Pullstart 62,905 #24 Posted November 26, 2021 I must say, the plastic tanks seem to hold much more fuel, when they do hold it! 1
