:handgestures-thumbupright:  2 link chains to boot, any idea yet what size tire they'll fit?

Those look like Craftsman for smaller wheels. The bolt pattern fits nicely on 8" fronts 😉

No, haven't measure yet. They do look small, the chains

Possibly, they did feel a little light. Not like my 50 lb wheel horse weights.

I'll take a few measurements in a bit.

Edit: They say sears and roebuck on them. Forgot to mention that.

In the county where I live we have a similar program. We don't take the items to a location, just the curb. If there is no "for sale" sign on the item, it is deemed free gratis.

Everything from lawn furniture to BBQ grills and so on. Kids toys, wood, old appliances, just like the tv commercial "make junk disappear".

I drug a set temporary steps, that I used when working on the house, down to the curb. Before I got 10 feet away a gal stopped and said, you giving those away? Yep! I'll taken them. okay offered to help her load them into the her minivan., but she said she got it. And those steps are going to be just right for their camper in the backyard. Drove off with the side door open!

I suppose some just pick up stuff to flea market but hey they are working for it.

Same here -- called "big item day"-- and had a similar experience of stuff leaving before I walked back up the driveway. I've also made some good scores just cruising around.

‘Round here, you can have big stuff at the road for free and it stays forever.  Put $50 on it and it disappears!  :ROTF:

Well… do you tape the $50 to it so it’s visible or put it in an envelope marked free…? :occasion-clown:

You guys are too funny. We don't have a "day" for that, seems like no matter what time of year it is, people always leave stuff out, and it typically disappears pretty quick around here.

@midpack, I think you nailed it on the head about the 8" wheels. The biggest diameter is 11-1/2", and the holes are 4-1/2" apart on center. Little small for 12" wheels lol.

I've been meaning to get a small set for my Commando 8, these just might be what I need. Id rather a set of matching cast iron ones, to go with the WH rears, but I can't complain for the price I paid lol.

Local "Dump" (Town Redemption Center) has a place where you can leave stuff thats still good, for other people to take, for free

Wish our dump had this. Once you unload something at our dump, that is where it has to stay. Really made me upset the day that I pulled in and there were 2 Wheel Horse's sitting on the ground.:(

We do have a scrap bin, thays a big metal dumpster. There are big signs that say not to pull anything out.

The section I'm referring to is separate. At the end of the night, anything left gets tossed for a clean slate in the morning.

So true.  An old timer (94 year old farmer) told me the same story decades ago.  He put a piece of furniture out by the road with a “free for the taking” sign.  It sat there for days until he replaced it with a “For Sale: $5” sign. It sold immediately thereafter.

Edit:  I’m assuming your item sold as opposed to flying away.

it was a friend’s Harley Davidson painted up beer fridge.  Free for a week on the road.  They changed the sign to $50 and it was stolen.  Can’t make this stuff up

Nice that it is getting a new home instead of filling up a landfill.
