should i know anything about the kohler k341s

the biggest single K-serie that has a flat-head. You may want to look in removing the balancer gear.

I personally didn't on my M16

They have more then enough power! way more dependable then a tecky

And, if, by chance, the pulley on the 8 speed transmission was larger, it would just make the tractor slower.

Bigger pulley on the engine, faster tractor.

Smaller pulley on the engine, slower tractor.

Smaller pulley on the transmission, faster tractor.

That simplifies things a bit... :D

Don

1:1 would be ideal I think. on a 6 or 8speed. some calculations gave me a top speed of around 16mph. not bad. I am planning to get my c-141D to go around 15-20mph

Some people think that you need to remove the bearings in the block when you remove the balance gears.

Not so.

Those bearings are pressed in, they aren't going ANYWHERE. You can remove them for ...💩 and giggles... but it isn't really necessary.

Just take out the balance gear, leave the bearings in the block, and bolt the engine cover back on. Done.

Racing guys do this all the time.

An they want $300 - $400 for a non running engine. You really have no idea what you are buying.

Rebuild what you have.
