edgro 677 #1 Posted November 21, 2021 I did not like the looseness of the crank handle support that goes into the mid mount tach-a-matic. Don't know if this has been done before, but here is my cure. I drilled a piece of flat stock, and made this bracket to support the end on the left side. Handle slop is gone now 1
peter lena 8,451 #2 Posted November 21, 2021 @edgro you guys are getting very scary to me , let me understand , you looked at a poorly functioning area , and dared to improve it ? what is going on ? handle slop is now gone ? my only question is , did you lubricate related movement areas ? off the cliff , pete

Of course capturing it completely, like you did, will reduce the slop to near nothing. The use of a rod is not documented in my owners manuals, maybe at one time it was. stevasaurus 22,527 #7 Posted November 21, 2021 @peter lena Pete, just so you know, I use Lucas when I re-do transmissions, and I put it on my Wheaties in the morning. I put Sea Foam on my pizza when I make them. I use 3 & 1 oil on all the door hinges in the house...and on all my tools. I have an oil can in every room in the house, one on top of every TV. Check out some of my collection of oil cans.
