Snow Blower Tall Chute Control Handle Sloppy

Recommended Posts

edgro

I did not like the looseness of the crank handle support that goes into the mid mount tach-a-matic.

Don't know if this has been done before, but here is my cure.

I drilled a piece of flat stock, and made this bracket to support the end on the left side.

Handle slop is gone now

@edgro you guys are getting very scary to me , let me understand , you looked at a  poorly functioning area , and dared to improve it ?  what is going on ?  handle slop is now gone ?  my only question is , did you lubricate related movement areas ? off the cliff , pete

A 1/4" rod thru those holes that back up the latches, (see photo), will help reduce the slop for any implement.  Of course capturing it completely, like you did, will reduce the slop to near nothing.  The use of a rod is not documented in my owners manuals, maybe at one time it was.

Pete, just so you know, I use Lucas when I re-do transmissions, and I put it on my Wheaties in the morning.  I put Sea Foam on my pizza when I make them.  I use 3 & 1 oil on all the door hinges in the house...and on all my tools.  I have an oil can in every room in the house, one on top of every TV.  Check out some of my collection of oil cans.  :occasion-xmas:

Might want to watch out if you are at Steve's house and need coffee creamer... :laughing-rolling:
