c-175 hydro leak

where to start? I need a schematic for tran and mower lift. It leaked all of oil out and won't lift and I guess it won't move either... didn't try just shut it off. Going to push it to spot where I can jack it up and try to see. I know I'm going to need to have a schematic for sure.the tag under the seat said to use SAE 10w 30 in the tran. is that right?

10w30 is right, clean everything, fill her up and see were she leaks. Could be a busted line, axles seals, around the drainplug. I would inspect those things.

Hey thanks, I think it’s going to be a line that goes to the lift cylinder. It a steady stream and slung it all the way to the front of it some how.

Front and rear/left and right are always from the operator's position in the seat.

Welcome to the forum, @Cowboydj

As you may discover, the control valve is buried pretty deep in that tractor so if you have to replace a hose it's a bit of a job getting access to the endpoints. I'd consider carefully examining any other hoses for possible preemptive replacement while I was in there. Wishing you luck!

Thanks every body, I’m sure I’ll have more questions on this one I thought I was done with it. I was given this tractor for free had to dig it out of tall grass after sitting about 8 or 10 years the Onan had threw a rod. So I replaced it with a Rebuilt Kohlor CH 20 Vtwin. It barely fit under the hood. I will post before and after later. Still need a few small parts. 😎

Please do post pictures.  A lot of us are like six year olds - we like looking at pictures better than reading.  Besides, that sounds like a very interesting swap.

In 1962 Wheel Horse started using 62-xxxxx serial numbers for tractors and the attachments got an A-xxxxx serial number.

They had quite a few of both left over so continued using them in 1963 and 1964 until they were used up.

I guess the A-xxxxx were the last to be used because some of them ended up on tractors. Have never seen a 62-xxxxx tractor serial on an attachment.

 

Do you have the engine numbers?

Your serial A-60524 fits in.

The original engine in the C-175 would have been a Kohler Twin. Had it already been replaced with an Onan?

Do you know the tractor model number?

Sundstrand hydro's have the oil filter on the right side.

Eaton have the oil filter on the left rear.

The C-175 models used both transmissions depending on model year.

1980 was Sundstrand

1981-1984 used Eaton

If this is the 'before' picture of the same tractor, then that is definitely a Kohler and not an Onan.

How did you repair that plastic fender?  

 

 

 Pretty much any of the metal fenders will bolt right up by the way, in case yours breaks again and you don't wanna mess with it anymore.  I've got a metal fender from a 90s 300 series on mine.
