Look at the bottom of the shifter pattern decal on the hood stand. It should start 62- and the rest is the serial number.

That kinda leaves you SOL on finding the serial number on most round hoods.:(

Post a few pictures, we'll figure out what you have.:thumbs2:

If it is electric start and IF it has the original Starter / Generator, there is a date code tag on that -can help to narrow it down .....

Check to see if the decal is painted over.  If so, use Acetone and "Rub Gently" to soften and remove the paint without harming the decal.  :occasion-xmas:

I wonder, if indeed it is painted over, if a little gasoline would work to take the paint off as well, Steve? :confusion-confused:

A number of things may work here, gas, paint thinner, etc.  I know Acetone works great and fast and does not ruin the decal.  Tried and true!!  :USA:

MONEY :banana-rock:

Odd how you brought that to my memory... why would I forget that?

Probably because... the last time I "borrowed" some nail polish remover for a tractor... from the sweet, pretty, lovely, lady women here on the funny farm... I got clobbered... :laughing-rofl:

LET ALONE A FINGERNAIL FILE!!! :deadhorse:

@ri702bill Is absolutely correct...that is not a 702.  Got to be a 60' 61' suburban.  Need a few more pictures...especially the trans.  :occasion-xmas:
