The only disaster is a winter with no plow time.

Well that is what we got in NC. Ice and freezing rain. Mostly sleet here thank goodness.

Sleet isn't so bad, as long as it gets cleared off the roads. Ice and rain are problematic. Snow is where it's at. You can drive in snow.

Exactly. Some better than others I know, but it is passable and rarely causes power outages.

Sorry, no pictures, left my camera in the barn and you can't get the wife out of the house when it is cold! Got about 3" of wet heavy snow overnight and while I was finishing up moving it off the driveway the weather changed over to rain. Glad I got the steep parts of the drive cleared or we would have an inch of ice in the morning.

Duke Power, now called Duke Energy has territory almost coast to coast from what I understand.

I believe they started in or around Charlotte and if I’m not mistaken in their early days ran the electric street cars in Charlotte.

Edit :

I was a little off on my post…

This was earlier today. Not bad at all. All sleet and ice. We got one more band headed our way that supposedly is all snow. Power is holding...

Snow would be nice  We'll see shortly.

Now it's snowing here. The last gasp of this front should be over in a couple hours or so.

Big ol fat snow! Hard to see with my phone camera, but it is really coming down.

Happy the power held. Had my generator set up, but glad it wasn't needed this time.

Good to see someone having a good time!. We got a 1/2 inch that would not stick to the road. Couldn't even fire up the 48" to blow it around. Sigh.

Snow started around 4 am. By 7 we had an inch or more and snowing heavily. NWS is still calling for 8"+ here by noon. If the temperature holds below freezing so we don't change to rain we'll get that easily.

Maybe 6-8”. Plowed really easy. And the tri-ribs are so much better than the 20 or so year olds turfsavers on front.

It started to sleet just as I finished, so pretty good timing.

No snow here, only rain as predicted but there was one band of rain that came through around 2:30 AM and lasted about 15 minutes that was possibly the heaviest I've EVER seen.  And it stopped as abruptly as it started.  It was like someone turned on Niagra Falls, and then shut it off again.

If that had all been snow there would be over 3 feet out there.

I really had to work at this one. A snowblower would have been a better option this time. I still had fun getting some seat time. Some people probably think we’re crazy calling this fun.😀

Tough snow.  Didn't get that much but it drifted ..bare spots to 8-10 inches and it got heavy with the sleet.  Charger 12 got a work out.  First real test with the 54" blade and new weights now about 350lbs all together.  Was on the governor frequently even lugged her down in the heavy spots.  .
