Not that iam much looking forward to snow! But I also like to be prepared!!! The 670 predator did great all summer with the mower so iam sure it will handle the snow also!!!

3 snow shovels. 

Roof rake. 

Car top snow pusherer. 

4 plow blades ranging from 42" to 61" width. 

One nice, near new Ariens commercial grade walk behind snowblower.

I'm ready, got 3 pair of Wrangler jeans, at least 4 long sleeves T shirt and a Carhart Chore coat. The tractors stay in the shed.

i'm ready parked it there last spring and she ready put the charger on it last week put fresh gas in it and fired right up . acualy had snow today about quarter inch in yard

I have a set of chains for the rear tires. Not installed yet. My main snow clearing machine is a Husqvarna snowblower. My long driveway has curbing on both sides so pushing it with a plow is way harder then using the blower. I also have a Case 224 with a snowblower on the front that I am dying to try if it isn't sold before then.

Eww Case tractors? 

At the WH dealer, whenever a tractor I hadn't worked on before came in for service, I'd be like, "WTF is this piece or cr@p?" 
Mainly because I didn't know the machine.

WH, Gravely, Locke, National, Bobcat, Lawn Boy, Stihl, Little Wonder, we worked on all of them every day.

Anything else and 13 year old me would...."WTF is this piece or cr@p?"

You fellas up north can keep the snow. I am not a fan.

 

North Carolina snow is fine with me- if it comes at all, here today and gone tomorrow because it's 75 degrees. I can only remember twice in my 50 years that snow stayed on the ground for a week.

Winter's been on the mild side here the last (3?) Seasons. 

We're about due for another wicked one but it doesn't look like this will be the year going by NWS long range predictions. 

That said we'll still have a base of 3 or 4 feet by March. 

 

I think it was 4 years ago we had a base of over 5 feet.

We don't mind the winter so much nowadays because we both have understanding employers and we're very well prepared to move snow out of the way. 

Because we have 2 tarp/rope covers and 2 tarp/metal frame buildings and a pretty fair sized area to clear it takes a good strong 2 hours to clear every time it snows. 

Bigger storms obviously longer...

 

I find the last few years the hottest days of summer... I just don't so we'll anymore. 

Cold tolerance is good down to about 20 or so.

Our winters would also consist out of snow +/-4inches. Now instead of snow, we have tons of rain. winter but also summer. 

Maybe next project after the compressor is a waterpump haha

 

 

I would want to try this rear grader this year.  With that rubber, I think it will do OKEY with the little snow we get.

A mid mount or rear mount scraper blade does do fairly well in the snow if there isn't very much. The biggest issue with something like that is that you have to run over the snow before you remove it which leaves two very densely packed stripes. Those will quite often turn to stripes of ice later.

I know, But front mount blades are $$$ and super rare.

I also have chains for my horse, but can't use them on the concrete driveway.

Eric I have one of those blowers. What a beast 13.5 hp 28" I use it to blow the plowed snow to the side lot. I am getting a bit old for this blower = big and heavy a MAN`S blower not an old fart like me.

We have the same engine but on a narrower case. Ours is 24" wide. That will throw light fluffy snow 35 to 45ft with ease.

 

 

I also have an approximately 2005 Simplicity model 1390e. 

That's a 13 horsepower engine as well with a 38" wide cut!

That has a governor like any other small engine & it also has some sort of torque multiplier built into it. It's been indicated to me in the past that it was meant to be more of a solid surface sidewalk blower and designed to throw the snow only about 20 ft which isn't super helpful in our large wide yard. Combine that with the fact that it is so incredibly heavy. 275 or 280 lb I believe. The thing just tosses you around like a rag doll while you're trying to use it on a gravel surface.

I stopped using it two seasons ago and I'm likely going to sell it fairly soon here...
