ElectricApprentice123 3 #1 Posted November 14, 2021 DISCLAIMER-Mods, Move this if I’m wrong section please. I’m going to look at a Charger 12 I found on market place this Morning while digging through the ads. The gentleman has it listed for $200 with a dozer blade and a deck along with some 55 pound wheel weights. Is that machine worth the $200? Running condition is unknown, I did however ask him. Doesn’t seem like it has the factory exhaust system. I also noticed a carb and air cleaner housing sitting on the deck. My second question is this….is there anyone in Pa,Nj, NY Or ct that would be interested in the deck? I’m looking for this unit as a snow machine so I have no use for it. Just basically trying to cover some of the cost of the tractor. And since I wasn’t planning on buying a tractor today reduce some of the space needed in the back of my short bed Tacoma. Thanks for the help Guys- Electrician Apprentice.

I would date this tractor as a '70 - '74 2 hours ago, ElectricApprentice123 said: Is that machine worth the $200? I'm going to guess that it doesn't run right now, seeing that the carb is not on it. Turn the engine over by hand to see if it is free and feel for compression. Use your findings for bargaining. Either way at $200 that tractor would be coming home with me.

SylvanLakeWH 25,604 #8 Posted November 14, 2021 Wheel weights, plow & deck = >200. You get the tractor for free…
EB-80/8inPA 1,655 #9 Posted November 15, 2021 The wheel weights alone are probably worth half that. Nothing's getting any cheaper.
Howie 886 #10 Posted November 15, 2021 (edited) The add says it is a Charger 12. When did they start using that model designation? Edited November 15, 2021 by Howie error
Inspectorjoe 471 #11 Posted November 15, 2021 Did you buy it? I see the seller still has it listed (as of Sunday 11 pm). If you haven't bought it but plan to, I don't need the deck, but if it's cheap enough I'll take it. I'm located on the way back from New Tripoli, and depending on which way you go, I'm at the most, about 8 miles off your route.
953 nut 55,325 #12 Posted November 15, 2021 $ 200 well spent there! The fact that the air cleaner is off tells me it probably isn't running well and the seller has given up on it. You will want to refresh the fuel system before making any further attempt at operating it. A couple feet of 1/4" rubber fuel line, a fuel filter and a good cleaning of the carburetor will probably be all that is needed. The engine has an electronic ignition, when you begin the process of bringing the Charger back to life be sure to avoid any contact of battery voltage to the ignition coil. I'm only 35 miles away. I was considering going to see it, but I'm not, because it would create friction with my wife, and also because it seems odd that at that price, it hasn't sold in the 6 days its been listed.
