Walbro Autopulse Fuel Pump

Recommended Posts

Tay

Hi, I am in the process of rebuilding my Walbro #33981 fuel pump.  It is (what they now call) the old kind.  I ordered the kit with the two springs, and four gaskets (part #33010) and before it arrived, I took the pump apart, cleaned all the metal parts, and threw away the old gaskets.  I was assuming, that when the rebuild kit arrived, it would have instructions showing me how to reassemble the pump with the new springs and gaskets.  Well,,,,,,,,,,,,it doesn't show me anything, just includes the parts.  Does anybody know, or can tell me where to find, the order in which to install the gaskets (front to back) in this fuel pump?  Appreciate any info you can give me!  Thank You!

As do I... although... I wouldn't have quite the humor to make my user name that... :laughing-rolling:

@Tay... I asked an old friend of mine, Larry, who owns a small engine shop.

Hopefully, if he hasn't croaked... he will answer if no one else here knows... :happy-bouncyyellow:

I take it this is the kit.  The next link is Jack's Small Engine parts...says they have diagrams.  Give them a call.

Your Library may have small engine books like Chilton's that may have what you are looking for also.

Hello stevasaurus, yes, that is the kit.  I know I did a dumb thing, by removing them before the others shipped to me.  When I went to "Jacks site", and put in the number for the carburetor, and the number for the kit, a message came up that neither could be found?

I also hope your buddy hasn't "kicked the bucket" because I'll take any help I can get,,,,,,,,,,,,,and appreciate it.

No,,,,,,,,,,,,his horse is not laying,,,,,,,,,,,,he just welcomed me and didn't try to give me any "HS"!

Anyway, appreciate all you guys trying to help, I'll wait and see what happens.

@Tay...

Larry answered... so this is what he said...

It goes from the metal model number plate, to the thin rubber pitliner diaphragm, to the big two square hole gasket, to the other thick metal plate, to the other thin rubber with flaps diaphragm, to the last cardboard gasket. I assume you know how to put the tiny two springs in and do not forget to put the big coil spring with plastic cap in it as well. I always be careful as not to disturb the two tiny springs but I almost always forget to get the big spring and plastic in them. lol. Good luck. OH! Do not over tighten them or it will warp and not seal.

I hope that helps...

Oh, and by the way, @Tay...

This was not Larry, who answered my email... I just found out that it was Kane... (I am not acquainted with Kane... so I am still unsure if Larry croaked or not...)

You can call them here if you need more assistance... although what more they could tell you... I am unsure... 1-989-866-6477

It is Larry's Small Engine Salvage...

Got the fuel pump back together, and runs like a top.  Contacted Larry's Small Engine Salvage and they were very nice, and took the time to explain it further.  I am going to attach a picture so someone else can use it if they need help.  In the picture, the parts and old gaskets, and such, on the right were mine.  The parts on the left, were the kit I ordered to rebuild the fuel pump.

I believe some of the old B&S motors had these pumps as well.
