SylvanLakeWH 25,600 #1 Posted November 7, 2021 I’m thinking there’s some changes afoot in the tire world and they aren’t giving us more… Anyone notice same thing??? New Carlisle Turf Masters 23-9.5-12 on both tractors. Same air pressure. Right tractor tires bought new 4 years ago. Left bought new this year… Older ones 1” higher and 1/2” wider… Fronts same time frame only Turf Savers 16-6.5-8. Left tractor older tires 3/4” taller and 1/2” wider… 2 2

SylvanLakeWH 25,600 #3 Posted November 7, 2021 I’m just curious… seems odd and wondering if others have noticed… 1

AMC RULES 37,130 #7 Posted November 7, 2021 I recently sold another set of these Carlisle ags I had on hand here. Sold 'em because they weren't as tall or wide as this set... and didn't have the American flag or made in the USA stamped on the sidewall.

lynnmor 7,308 #9 Posted November 7, 2021 23-9.5-12 should measure 23" high by 9.5 inches wide and fit a 12" wheel. If you buy a container of ice cream it should contain exactly what is stated on the label. I would measure and contact the dealer and see if he has tires the correct size.
pfrederi 17,741 #10 Posted November 7, 2021 Or more importantly Ice Cream... Used to be a half gallon now 1.5 qts in a similar container... They think we are stupid...but we really do not have a choice... 5

I was unaware that was ever the case... @lynnmor... at least with the many products I have bought from every type of store. Even with various laws in place... as everyone knows.. on this planet, there is a lot of leeway with what manufacturers get away with... but maybe our planets are different? Going back to mine now... WHX?? 48,828 #14 Posted November 8, 2021 Seems to be the luck of the draw if they run tall or wide. Especially when we buy these things sight unseen offa fleabay or whatever. My guess is like every thing else manufacturers are trying to use less raw materials. These are supposed the be 23-10.5-12 but look at how they stack up against 9.5 ?? orginals. About 3 year old ag tires. 31 minutes ago, lynnmor said: 23-9.5-12 should measure 23" high by 9.5 inches wide and fit a 12" wheel. Not that i don't like ice cream Lynn but what has that got to do with tires? Good thread Sylvia 2 1

Snoopy11 5,714 #18 Posted November 8, 2021 But... finding out that my tires are smaller than what they are supposed to be would piss me off... Don
SylvanLakeWH 25,600 #19 Posted November 8, 2021 My original thought is, like many of the off post items mentioned above, that perhaps the tire industry is reducing raw material usage / costs by reduced size of the end product…but marketing it as the same… that’s different than reducing volume, making the bag look the same size with air, but correctly noting the change in volume of the real product (chips etc.). 5
Snoopy11 5,714 #20 Posted November 8, 2021 Well sir... I can say... I have been looking at tires lately... and I can definitely attest to what you are saying. One thing I have noticed, on some tire sites... is that they list "actual size" further down in the listing... I think this applies to what you have shown us here... mrc 812 #23 Posted November 8, 2021 i always bought carlisle tires because they were made in USA. proudly stamped on the sidewall. i'm a blue collar guy and work in manufacturing, so i figured i should support some tire guy at carlisle like me. the deestones were always smaller than carlisle. much cheaper too. than the last time i bought carlisle they said in made in china UGH!!@#$%^&!! guess where carlisle puts that info? on the bead of the tire. so once it is mounted on a rim you cannot see it. sneaky devils. plus the price is way cheaper than before when made in USA. i'd rather pay more and get real sizes. mike in mass. 2
