HorseFixer 2,012 #8 Posted June 21, 2009 Well doesnt the RV have a generator on board? I remember you posting about it and all. I would think that would give you enough juice for the AC right?( And dont come knockin on my door over at the Blue Sky Friday night lookin to borrow a cup of AC either ) Mike...... Yeah funny thing you mentioned about the Generator Mike. Last year when I purchased The Stabbin Cabin it had like 9,500 miles on her and 25 hrs on the Onan Generator. Quite a low milage cream puff for a 2001. The couple said they just had the generator worked on and the guy put a new carberator on it and it still wasn't running right. The guy who replaced the carb said it prolly had ole gas in the tank and needed it to be burned out and fresh gas put in. I said a few weeks back that I took it for its first long road trip and did just that and refilled the tank $120.00 buckaroos worth thats when gas was 2.32 a gal <_< anyways I had been trying to get the Generator to run better and it did but Finally figured out what was wrong with it! A Gasket in between the carb and the air filter box was interfearing with the choke and not allowing it to close! Removed the gasket gave it a hair cut and now instead of taking 13 seconds to start it starts instantly and doesnt "HUNT" and suge when under load runs like a million bucks! One thin g about Generators you need to run them every so often ans use stabililizer in the fuel so crap dont sit and collect in the carb! Now as far as running the Generator for A/C yeah I could do that, But that would cost me about a 1/2 Gallon An Hr under load!!!!! That would be 3 days X 24 = 72 hrs X .5 = 36 gallons X $2.50 a gallon would be $90.00 buckaroos! Yikes thats cutting into my tractor Show Money!

Redbird 1 #14 Posted June 21, 2009 We found a great way to beat the heat--portable style! Got one of those ocillating clip on fans you plug into your cig lighter in the car, and a jumper pack with the lighter outlet on it. Plug in the fan and go. If the jumper box gets low--plug it in the generator and recharge it. It may not be cold but at least it's moving air and portable. See you in a few days! Suburban 550 28 #20 Posted June 21, 2009 Butch, If Dukes weather forecast is right it looks like it's gonna be nice. Lotta rain here too.
Butch 194 #21 Posted June 22, 2009 Ray it does say a 20 percent chance of rain or Thunderstorms. Me being a pessimist I don't like those odds! If the place is anything like the Carlisle Fairgrounds it can be down right muddy. I can't take another day of this rain.

HorseFixer 2,012 #23 Posted June 22, 2009 Hey Duke, Is that a tommy gun? Gene Yes Gene! That is one of the original Tommy Guns aka Thompson Centers that were used in the St. Valentines Day Massacre in 1929. We have in our possession two of them and are being held as evidence. You all may have seen them on TV the other night on discovery channel. Here is the story of how we got them, Click On Here To Go To Read About Fred "KILLER BURKE" Or here is another story Click Here to Read. Gene sometime ya make it to St. Joseph Mich after July 14th I will get ya in to hold one of these babies! :thumbs2:
Gene_S 93 #24 Posted June 22, 2009 Hey Duke, My old boss has a friend in North Manchester (hope I get this story right) he went around to police stations and collected up Tommy guns and were traded out for machine guns...!?!? Did the swat maybe use them? Hope that makes sense. This same guy also builds one off custom rifles for hunting. Ya I'd like to see one, that would be cool. Thanks, Gene :thumbs2:
GlenPettit 1,716 #25 Posted June 22, 2009 The Weather Service just updated the Friday forecast to 50% chance of rain (as of 11am Monday), that's still 50% chance of no rain, and it might only be for a few minutes. The fairgrounds is firm gravel/stone, so there shouldn't be much if any mud, and lots of inside/covered buildings for space.
