Before the mod, I could not make power moves. Now, I can do a wheelie, spin the tires... anything I want. It is pretty darn fast to!

An extra grand does wonders! :banana-dance:

Interesting, I was surfing the web and found this:

John Deere LX176 Specs, Price, Reviews: John Deere LX176 Lawn Tractor fitted with 1-cylinder, Kawasaki FC420V gasoline, air-cooled 422 cc engine, which delivers 12.5 hp (9.3 kW) power at rated rpm 2700.

However, the motor itself is rated 14hp at 3,600 rpm... NOW I'm really scratching my head... :confusion-confused:

Maybe the factory set it down at 2,700? Perhaps it came like that...?

Then, another site says...

John Deere LX176 Price, Specs, Reviews: John Deere LX176 Lawn tractor equipped with Kawasaki FC420V gasoline 1-cylinder air-cooled 422 cc engine, which produces 14 hp (10.4 kW) at rated rpm 3600.

:dunno:

Probably a "nanny state" thing.

I bet there's a so called safety regulation somewhere...

I would imagine.

Manual says:

Fast Idle . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3350 ±50 rpm

I will run 3,600  ±50 rpm... thank-you very much.

I certainly don't feel that I need to do a pulley swap running what I will call... the CORRECT rpms.

Two-fold ride here guys...

Took the LX176 out for a ride, first time on video. And showed part of the path made by HellHorse....
