Brockport Bill 1,660 #1 Posted October 31, 2021 my son hopes to get a mid mount grader for 520 HC - so not familiar with hook up yet -------- but in advance------- wanted to know if there is capability for down pressure from hydro lift connection to grader? Thanks
c-series don 8,671 #2 Posted November 1, 2021 There definitely is a lift link for down pressure. It’s not the same link as the snowplow it is shorter and has a bend in it. I think one of the vendors here sells it. I’m assuming you’re going to get the 50” model since you have a 520. The mid mount grader blade works excellent. Front and rear wheel weights also make a big difference.
953 nut 55,116 #3 Posted November 1, 2021 Yes, they offered a solid link that will give great down force. @c-series don types faster than I do. 2

Toro -- or a used part vendor - or vendor making newly manufactured?

oliver2-44 9,710 #6 Posted November 1, 2021 I love using the mid-mount grader blade on my C-160 Hydro. Take it easy on the down pressure and give it little tiny hydraulic bumps down. You can quickly anchor the tractor with the blade if your not careful. But with a little practice you'll get the hang of it and can do a lot of work with it.
Lee1977 6,648 #7 Posted November 4, 2021 You can lift the front wheels off the ground with the grader blade, It has more then enough pressure for down force.
pfrederi 17,681 #8 Posted November 4, 2021 I find it much easier to use a gear drive tractor manual lift. The weight of eh blade does most the work and it only takes a little pressure on the lift arm sometimes to get a bit more bite.. With the hydro I used before it was too hard to modulate

With the hydro I used before it was too hard to modulate For years I assumed that a hydro lift for a front/dozer blade was an upgrade and I suppose if it was SO heavy that it was barely manageable that might actually still be true, BUT, I have so much control on my Wheel Horse that a hydro would be a downgrade for me! After years now I'm still amazed at how much control I have being able to feel what the blade is doing and to have such fine control of the height and pressure. Manual lift is my preferred!
