Sparky-(Admin) 21,326 #1 Posted October 29, 2021 As usual I have the typical fall issue of mice moving into my shed and tractors. But I think something bigger like chipmunks are in now. Fired up my plow tractor with a Mag10 and the horizontal exhaust and these acorns shot outa the muffler like small cannon balls!! 1

JoeM 7,874 #4 Posted October 29, 2021 reminds me of that song "Acorns roasting in a Wheel Horse muffler" I had all kind of critter issues until last year when a 4' black snake took up residence at the pole building. All I find now is a skin shed every now and then. 3

Digger 66 3,481 #7 Posted October 30, 2021 A few years ago I found 3 unhusked black walnuts , from my tree out front , strategically stored up in the spare tire rim of my pickup . The tree fruited again this year and now it's like an Easter egg hunt around here .

kpinnc 12,083 #10 Posted October 31, 2021 Best not crank that tractor next to the Tundra. Horizontal hail damage might be tough to explain! Pop's tractor was full of acorns. Under the engine tins, toolbox was full, even around the steering gear. I've shot fuzz and hay out from a mouse nest above the flywheel, but no acorns here so far!

1940willys 120 #12 Posted October 31, 2021 Getting 5gal pails of Black walnuts out of my daughters shed. I take them out and dispose of them. No sooner are there more back in the eves. Squirrels are the culprits not the Chipmunks everyone above mentions. Gotta get them entrance points fixed!
rjg854 11,378 #13 Posted October 31, 2021 There has been a bumper crop of black walnuts this year, I've never seen so many. I think it might be from all the rain we've had this year. Even in the late summer branches were braking of from the weight of the walnuts.
1940willys 120 #14 Posted October 31, 2021 ya I agree! This is up in Rochester, N.Y. 60 miles away from where I'm at. Do you know she had a litter of Red Fox under that same shed last year! No Squirrels then! I want them Back!
