stevasaurus 22,739 #2 Posted October 21, 2021 Welcome to Red Square. 1054 = 10 hp Kohler...5 electric start...4 is 1964. The transmission is a Wheel Horse #5047...it has 1 1/8" axles with a bevel gear differential. Do a search for information by typing 1054 or 1054A in the search box. Actually, your serial number appears to be a #1054A built in 1965 with a #5051 transmission...just a newer version of the #5047.
Pullstart 62,877 #3 Posted October 21, 2021 The 953/1054/1054A knocked the socks off the competition back in ‘63 and into ‘65. The big wheels, cast iron nose, and 2.5 gallon fuel tank made it an extreme work horse compared to other manufacturers!

953 nut 55,229 #5 Posted October 21, 2021 While the information in this attachment is about the 953 most of it is applicable to the 1054A also. l
Lane Ranger 10,968 #7 Posted October 22, 2021 Yes the 1054 is a great Wheel Horse model garden tractor. The 953/1054 models were a big hit in 1963 to 1966 when wheel horse introduced them. The first 48 mower deck, a heavy duty snowplow and snowblower, and substantial design features like no other garden tractor at the time including a hydraulic pump and cylinder for mid and rear attachment lifting and lowering! Love it and it will be good to you! 2
