wh315-8 460 #1 Posted October 19, 2021 Found me a 1045 with attachments today. All original. Lights were added but are a early design believe from trucks. Receipt shows it was sold on June 13 1964. One owner until today. 12 13

wh315-8 460 #7 Posted October 19, 2021 Hasn't ran in few years, will go through it pump, carb, etc. A couple of my tractors are 1 owners. Right place Right time. Some were from just because of my showing and telling the WH and Speedex story and folks remember they have a gem just sitting. They appreciate one that will preserve and not part it out. This is one that will be left patina and a Show tractor for sure. 2
peter lena 8,634 #8 Posted October 19, 2021 @wh315-8, glad you got that ! my experience with patina saving is simple , your favorite aerosol lubricant , on a clean cloth and wipe down every painted surface , it feeds the paint , stops the rust , and as it dries out you will see the life saving result. do that a few times , over days , just spray and let sit , then wipe till dry , pete

Unfortunately the hood has a 6in rough spot from a roof leaking. Trying to figure how to clean it to paint but blend it with old paint. 1

peter lena 8,634 #17 Posted October 19, 2021 @wh315-8 yup wd 40 is good , remember you are feeding long starved metal / paint finish . I do this to anything that i pick up , almost in sympathy for the neglect its been in . another thing that shows' up with that is the moisture beading on the surface , like a good wax job . when i first get something , just go after what ever gets your attention first , verify operation or failure , get after it , pete 1

peter lena 8,634 #19 Posted October 20, 2021 @wh315-8 at the oct , zagray farm show , there were a number of 1920,s tractors that obviously had been rubbed down with oil / lubricant , and the result was perfect to retain its condition . talking to a couple of owners , they said that their fathers / grandfathers , told them to use kerosene to stop rust and save a metal surface , simple and easy , especially liked the fordson tractors . perfect look , pete 1

peter lena 8,634 #23 Posted October 29, 2021 @pfrederi , been oil soaking stuff for years , just the opportunity to save what's there with lubricant , don't have to worry about inspection. after initial spray down , let it sit over night , next day rub it down till dry , that will start to recover what's there , surprisingly , done that on long neglected horses , once metal is lubrication fed , found it takes polish very well . 6" palm buffer , with Maguire's cleaner , made paint look new. obviously paint that is totally shot is past it s life , but a lubrication patina is a simple to recover look . only if you want to , pete

Than I lightly sanded to take out gloss look and blend in. Than I wiped down with WD40. When home tonight I will post pictures. It really came out pretty good and still looking patina.
