jonw440 187 #1 Posted October 17, 2021 I was working on my pellet stove today cleaning it to get ready for this heating season. The pellet stove is awesome (Harmon stoves made in Penn. USA). I was trying to remove the ESP probe using a Chinese 1/4 drive extension and the damn thing kept falling off my USA Craftsmen ratchet. I whipped it out in the woods and grabbed a USA made extension and finished the job. Also today I was looking for work boots to replace my Chippewa logger boots model number 20091 NON insulted logger boots that are 6 years old. Guess what Chippewa now discontinued them and have a replacement that are made in CHINA! So........BYE BYE Chippewa boots. I have two older pairs of these boots and loved how they fit and wore like iron. Maybe that's why we love the WH tractors because they were made in the good old USA! I hate Chinese garbage products!! 8 1
rmaynard 15,512 #2 Posted October 17, 2021 There is so much that I could say, but I won't because I want to remain a member in good standing here. Let's just hope that the USA comes back to our senses. 6 2 3
Ed Kennell 38,215 #3 Posted October 17, 2021 I still wear my USA made 40yo Danners on warm days and 30yo 1000gram Rockys on cold days. The Danners have the origonal soles. The rockys were resoled about 15 years ago. These boots have taken me many miles in PeeAaa, Md.,WVa., Montana, Canada, Wales, Austria, Slovenia and Switzerland. Danners Rockys 8

kpinnc 12,087 #10 Posted October 18, 2021 I almost always buy WIX filters... They have been great all around from what I've seen over the years. Bought a 51307 today for my FILs Charger hydrogear. It was very hard to put it on because the threads weren't exactly right. Pulled the box from the trash to double check the number, and it clearly says MADE IN CHINA. Guess I gotta find another brand... 1
Maxwell-8 4,277 #11 Posted October 18, 2021 China is buying our local lumber, shipping it to china, were they produce stuff, they import back here. Local woodworkshops can't get any wood. China has a diffrent production standard. that's the way they do their stuff. I avoid it as well. If their is a kohler for sale for €500, I will grab that before I will grab a chinese clone for €100 2

Should be a 1410. 1307 is an engine filter. 1410 fluid power filter
formariz 11,987 #15 Posted October 18, 2021 Sadly over here is basically the same. Country is also now not only flooded with cheap Chinese products, but also flooded with Chinese owned massive stores and warehouses that do not pay any taxes like all the others. Government gave them that incentive years back and now they are an actual epidemic here. Of course the ruse of inexpensive products which is really like a drug addiction has everyone hooked on it. Now that they are beginning to realize how crappy the products are, it us too late. Damage is done. 2

Guess it may need confirmation. Edited October 18, 2021 by kpinnc
JoeM 7,874 #17 Posted October 18, 2021 Come on people, where have you all been? It is now a global economy! And it is all about money. USA made doesn't equate to quality.... just price. Wheel Horse tractor people are probably one of the last groups that invision quality. The rest want to spend 2/3 less and to only have it last a handful of years. 1

rjg854 11,379 #19 Posted October 18, 2021 Try to avoid Chinese products as much as possible, but it's getting very difficult. Even things assembled here are made with Chinese components. 1
Maxwell-8 4,277 #20 Posted October 18, 2021 Their was this docu recently of a city in Italy known for it's production of clothing. I believed over the complete city their is still one owner left producing clothing that is of Italian origin, all the rest is chinese. they don't plan to stay, but work in Italy just to get the label "made in Italy" on their clothing. It even went so far that they asked some chinese people who lived in a certain small old house, that had the Italian flag still hanging out. "It are foreigners" they said. Turns out an Italian couple was living their and the man was born in that house 60 years ago. When he started talking about the transformation of his street he lived on his entire life, he bursted out in tears. and so did I. Maybe time to buy that Italian made Yanmar back and put it on a Horse

ri702bill 8,328 #23 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) Back to boots. About five years ago I went to my local Bob's Store to buy a pair of insulated boots, as they had a decent sale going. I had a bit of difficulty finding the display and a Saleswoman took me to them. She asked what size boots I was looking for - I told her either 10 and a half or 11 - depends on what part of "Cheaponesia" they came from! formariz 11,987 #24 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) Having the experience of knowing Chinese products in the US and here, I can tell you they are not the same. The US has restrictions and quality demands that do not exist here. What is sold here is total garbage that not only should the Chinese government be ashamed of exporting it but more importantly these people should have more self respect than to buy such garbage just to save money. They save nothing because nothing lasts and they have to continuously purchase the same items. They complain yet do not learn. Plenty of stuff here with incredible quality made in Germany , England just to name a few, yet they fall into the same trap over and over again. It is indeed like any other addiction.
