Sparky-(Admin) 21,318 #1 Posted October 17, 2021 …So I bought a pair! Scored these off FB Marketplace this morning and only 5 miles away from home! Both are 312-8’s with Magnums, one set of wheel weights, two axle brackets, two high back seats with NO RIPS! One has a 36RD and the other a 42RD, both decks are solid. Neither are running but both spin over with compression and the throttle shafts are right so I bet they come to life with little effort. 13

Sparky-(Admin) 21,318 #9 Posted October 17, 2021 So both the RD decks are real nice. The 36” is like new and quiet, the 42” is not as nice but it’s solid and quiet! Also ended up with a pair of wheel weights and 2 axle brackets. 4

Wishin4a416 2,191 #14 Posted October 17, 2021 Nice! Low hours if maintained. My 87 312 has 2200 hours and still mowing. Does use some oil but doesn't smoke. 1

953 nut 55,229 #16 Posted October 17, 2021 Mike, are you gathering inventory for Big Show 2022? Need to get a few 5 Gallon Buckets. @Ed Kennell can give you some pointers.
peter lena 8,627 #17 Posted October 17, 2021 @Sparky recommend you get some spray cable lube on the underside of that deck , or some open gear spray , allow it to dry in the sun , let the deck get hot ,to suck in the lubricant , also use lucas x tra heavy duty chassis grease in those spindles , polyurea rated , hi temp , anti sling , all my decks are set up like that , no rust or rot , very quiet bearings and no bearing failures . grease at walmart $ 5 . good opportunity to save them , pete
peter lena 8,627 #18 Posted October 18, 2021 @Sparky , like this , all my decks have this , deck saving lubricant coverage , no rust or rot, no bearing noise , pete
Moparfanforever 844 #19 Posted October 18, 2021 I just noticed on the 36" deck it doesn't have the rag joint material for the deck stops , but what looks like just some rubber nubs of some kind ?? Never seen that before.

Ed Kennell 38,174 #22 Posted October 18, 2021 (edited) My '91 312H is my hardest worker, it sips fuel, does not throw heat in my face, and does not clog its screen. I do like my KTs and Onans, but.... Edited October 18, 2021 by Ed Kennell
