squonk 41,040 #2 Posted October 17, 2021 We have a store just like that. Only problem is the drawers were filled once. Now they are either half empty or mixed up.
ri702bill 8,294 #3 Posted October 17, 2021 Squonk: I can relate to that all too well. My local "blue" store must have 10th grade maroons stocking the fastener section. It burns my biscuits to see #10 coarse AND fine screws in the same bin. Same sad story for the 1/4" screws. My local "orange" store is not much better - except they have a woman in hardware that is a lifer there and knows I'm looking for number 10-32 screws and NOT ten-thirty seconds fasteners! Folks that call them that probably do not which end of a screwdriver to hold. Bill
peter lena 8,588 #4 Posted October 17, 2021 @squonk can relate to the small drawer stock issue , my store turned the stocking over to the supplier , and also put out a request form for items wanted . they even added another section for more stuff coming in . complaints made my store change for the better , but its a pain when the bins are empty and mixed up , pete
Lee1977 6,648 #5 Posted October 18, 2021 The big problem is that no one seam to care, people mix up the bins just toss stuff back in, if they drop something on the floor will not pick it up. It's a big problem ever where, 1
oilwell1415 563 #6 Posted October 20, 2021 A while back some dimwit at my work dumped a bunch of communist bolts in my bin of 1/4-20 fasteners. 6mm and 1/4" are not the same. I've seen the same thing at the hardware store. I never leave without checking everything to make sure it is what it looks like.
