Good find today

Got a package deal on plow, tiller, and 42” rear discharge today. Unfortunately the seller couldn’t find the mid mount tensioner for the tiller.

That stealth deck must be a mafia special!  “We Mow at Dark” is their slogan…. :handgestures-thumbupright:

@John D  nice selection and pick up on that deal !  recommend getting the under side of that mafia dark deck  exposed to the sun with  a thorough cleaning and oil soak , that will help kill off the grunge and soak into the metal , in the sun at 45  deg angle. also go after the steering quadrant area on the plow , thorough chassis grease , detail its movement . do that on a couple of milk crates , that way you can verify its function , while its totally built . get that deck hot in the sun with oil soak . never done a tiller , but oil change and oil rub down on paint would help out , any questions ,just ask , pete

The “stealth” deck appears to be coated with truck bed coating and someone removed the tunnels under the deck. I already blasted the bottom of the deck and brushed on a coating of easy slide graphite paint. We’ll try it out without the baffles and see how it mows. Otherwise I’ll use the spindles on our other 42 rear discharge with a bad spindle. Got everything for only $500

@Jon D all my decks are , clean of the mulching assists , never had a discharge issue or build up , regularly spray lubricate my deck undersides , blade touch up with small fine file , to minimize  metal loss. this what i regularly do to my set up , lubriplate  open gear and cable spray .  bombproof , also do my cars the same way , zero rust or rot . I  would take advantage of the under side condition , and get some lubrication on it . also soak down those spindle housings . do mine in sun at angle to get deck hot and suck in the lube .  been doing this for years , it works , also lucas xtra heavy chassis lube in all related bearings , no noise or failures . any questions just ask , pete

Could that possibly be a shell for a recycling insert. :confusion-scratchheadyellow:
