Snoopy11 5,714 #1 Posted October 14, 2021 Hey guys, I have a new question for you. So... I want to put tire chains on my HellHorse. The only problem is there is not enough clearance between the agri-fab box frame that runs to my hitch and the tires. So... I am thinking about wheel spacers. I don't want to change rims or anything else on the tractor. The only thing I want to do is bring the wheels out... 1/2-1 inch. I am thinking... maybe getting longer lug bolts, and using some... pvc pipe... just not sure at this time... Thanks for your thoughts and input guys! Moparfanforever 851 #2 Posted October 14, 2021 Not in my shop to check , but I was thinking the three hole hubs lined up with three holes in a five hole hub ?? If so , maybe use a five hole spacer ??

Not sure how you measure 3 hole patterns. \ \ EDIT The bolt holes on a 5 lug QH hub are 2 1/4" form center of axle. Lawn Ranger are 1-3/4" from center of axle... Maxwell-8 4,277 #6 Posted October 14, 2021 5 on 4.5 pattern is what is just on the 5 bolt Wheel Horses. You will need longer bolts if you run spacers.

Lee1977 6,666 #8 Posted October 14, 2021 I think you need old style jeep spacers 82. 5 mm to get the center hole large enough to fit over the hub.. The center hole in the 5 x 4.5"wheels 3 1/8" or 79.375 mm. Most ford spacers the center hole is 70.5 mm.
ACman 7,618 #9 Posted October 14, 2021 If hellhorse still has the stock wheel hubs isn’t the bolt pattern a equilateral triangle ? Yes RJ’s to 753’s ( might be 702 ) had a three bolt hub that uses the common Ford bolt pattern .

ACman 7,618 #12 Posted October 15, 2021 (edited) Here’s a 3 bolt and 5 bolt hubs. Snoopy11 5,714 #15 Posted October 15, 2021 One of my buddies just told me about the above... wheel stud spacers for winter when I have chains on the tractor. Obviously wouldn't be something I would leave on all the time... although ATV nuts supposedly have good luck with them... Whatchya think, guys? Don

Snoopy11 5,714 #19 Posted October 15, 2021 Just so everyone knows... I am asking around at custom shops to see if maybe they might be able to make me a pair of spacers... If no one else has any suggestions for spacers... I might have to go that route... even though it will probably cost me 1 arm and 2 legs... (gotta bargain with the fab shops to keep 1 arm... otherwise I won't be able to put the spacers on...) Inviting some guys input here... @squonk, @ebinmaine, @kpinnc, @Pullhosen’s Pony Express ...you guys got any other ideas? Don

Those type of spacers at that length just don't make me feel warm and fuzzy. Was it me, I would get a stud kit and use appropriately sized half inch thick spacers between the wheel and the hub. Or....
