matt monte 132 #1 Posted October 12, 2021 guy is selling snowblower attachment local near me on the cheap. will it fit my 312-8? Im not afraid of a little fab work if its remotely close. says its off his
ri702bill 8,294 #2 Posted October 12, 2021 (edited) Matt: IF it is the same vintage as the 855, it is a 42 inch short frame plow like what I have for my 854. Your 312 is a long frame tractor - it will "fit", but you will not be able to angle it because the moldboard will hit the front tires. You would do better with a later 1990's 48 inch long frame plow like the one I have for my C81. Bill My bad - snowblower, duh. Well, same holds true - short frame vs. long frame. Several postings here already on this topic - the mounting is similar but different. Edited October 12, 2021 by ri702bill
953 nut 55,116 #3 Posted October 12, 2021 Can't answer this question directly but the manual for the early model snow blower may help. If the attachment points can be made the same on your 312 then the only other part that probably will need to be altered is the lift bar which is just a piece of schedule 80 3/4" pipe. Ed Kennell 38,033 #4 Posted October 12, 2021 You should be able to make it fit w/o much change. Lift rod will have to be lenghtened and you may have to alter the belt tensioning idler pulleys.
squonk 41,040 #5 Posted October 12, 2021 I don't thing the rod across the snowblower is correct for the front tach a matic. @pfrederi?
Jeff-C175 7,199 #6 Posted October 12, 2021 If you look through these two threads you will see what I had to do to get an older blower to work with my 'newer' machine: I had to modify the lift frame and the idler bracket. I don't know if you would have to do the same or not, but good info in the threads from various members.
pfrederi 17,681 #7 Posted October 12, 2021 Easiest way would be to get the mounting frame from newer tachmactic blower and use it. Bolt holes are the same. Some one probably has a blower that is too beat up to repair.
matt monte 132 #8 Posted October 13, 2021 thank you everyone for your feedback. i have a snowplow blade and actually used it last year. while i dont "need" a snowblower attachment, i always look on marketplace/CL. going rate near me is around $350 for a complete unit. One listed for the 855 was $45 for, he claims, a complete unit. If everyone is in agreement that with some minor fabrication it can work, ill buy it

If you don't get the "flag" part you'll have to make or buy one. Take a close look at the parts lists before you go to look at it and familiarize yourself with what you should see on the blower. Can you weld? You may need to...
