oliver2-44 9,764 #1 Posted October 9, 2021 Has anyone found a substitute for the mesh breather material Kohler sells? I need several, and on several sites and they were around $12 found them on evilbay for $6 I don't want to hurt an engine with small plastic pieces separating and floating around. But then again I've removed a few Kohler one that were falling apart when removed. Thanks for any suggestions,
stevasaurus 22,765 #2 Posted October 9, 2021 Check these out Jim, I have not tried them myself, but I have them ready to try when I get the chance. Won't shred or rust. Pads are 3" x 6" x 5/16" https://www.hardwareandtools.com/3m-10113na-scotch-brite-final-stripping-pads-6-inch-by-3-7-8-inch-2-pack-ulab-9266.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzfXwh9C98wIVRnxvBB3mCgIlEAAYASAAEgJyx_D_BwE
squonk 41,161 #3 Posted October 9, 2021 Yup go to Lowes or what ever and buy a Scothbrite pad. Cut what you need and give the rest to the dishwasher in the family. 1

8ntruck 7,021 #7 Posted October 10, 2021 I'm not sure that I would use one of the abrasive coated versions of the Scotchbrite pads as a filter. That provides a source of abrasives to get pulled into the engine. The non-abrasive dish scrubber version would be OK.
