ebinmaine 67,310 #1 Posted October 9, 2021 Well if all goes right I'm headed over to pick up a new car. 2022 Kia Soul. Should be a great combination of a commuter vehicle and light cargo hauler for me. I've been spending a little time looking at accessories for vehicles used both on and off road. The first couple things I'm going to add our window vent shades and a heated seat pad of some sort. What's your favorite/ most useful add-on to a vehicle that you've ever bought or made? squonk 41,039 #4 Posted October 9, 2021 Most car accessory shops can install a seat heater under you cushion. Better than a pad that flies all over the place. I had one put in my wife's van 3 yrs. ago and she loves it.

stevasaurus 22,711 #9 Posted October 9, 2021 I really miss my 8 track in my 60' Chevy. Cranking "Night Moves" & "Ina-Goda-Da-Vida". Had my home made speakers sitting on the back seat. "Come on Baby, Light My Fire" because "The Time has Come Today." "Don't You Want Somebody to Love??"

Daddy Don 905 #11 Posted October 9, 2021 I bought a 2020 ford f150 it has self dimming lights they work great and I don't have to worry about dimming my light when I meet another car coming at me. And it has several other options that helps us old 74 year old people with safe driving.

I like being able to lower the cabin temp to stay more alert and still be comfortable. 1 hour ago, Pullhosen’s Pony Express said: My favorite accessory? Clutch pedal. Been livin' without since our first minivan in '94. I enjoyed manual shifting a lot, and I miss the feeling of control, but have to acknowledge that the newer automatics' fuel efficiency, smooth operation, convenience in traffic, and ruggedness are terrific. Also like the daytime running lights (front and rear) and that the headlights go on by themselves when it gets dark and off when it gets light! Lastly, I owe a recreational beverage to the inventor of Rain-X windshield treatment. Safer driving and vastly decreased wiper wear!
peter lena 8,583 #13 Posted October 9, 2021 @ebinmaine , for me has to be the heated steering wheel , heated seats set up , on a chilly morning , or when ever you need some heat comfort , its always there . also agree with handy don , on the rain x glass treatment , if you regularly use it , the rain just runs off the glass . the older i get , the handier this stuff is , keep cruising , pete
squonk 41,039 #14 Posted October 9, 2021 Whish I had the heated steering wheel. I had to retire to solve the cold wheel in the morning problem! 2
ri702bill 8,293 #15 Posted October 9, 2021 The one "feature" I can absolutely do without is the oh so annoying automatic stop - start that kills the engine at a stop light. Rented several with it - always had to find the defeat switch before I drove it. Surprise!!! Turn the car off, it defaults to stop - start mode! More annoying than a cranky in-law in the passenger seat .... Bill 4
Snoopy11 5,714 #16 Posted October 9, 2021 (edited) Interesting discussion for me... 'cause besides being a Wheel Horse nut, I am also a Ford gearhead... Some of you guys have seen this before... if so... you can clean your fingernails while you look... LOL Our truck is one BIG accessory. Exhaust, that is the best accessory I have bought/made. Flowmaster cat. converters, Super 10 mufflers all the way, with custom fabricated exhaust piping. Sounds totally awesome... Don I've had those in the distant past. Around here the speed traps are most often laser, high speed setups. By the time your reader is readin' it's too late. I'm not much generally one for speeding anyhoo. Having a CDL license and getting a moving violation is a bad mix.
