Jrain 276 #1 Posted October 9, 2021 Howdy , yes its been awhile , I have so many projects going on , and it took awhile to get the scrap metal to make this build happen , but had time this week to get going on the first of the 2 implements I am building for the WH that will have one purpose and that is to Maintain my gravel road and drive way . This is not my Idea but it is based on a company that made these types of pull behind graders back in the 1950s and 60s in a much larger versions and with a twist of new versions that are built today with 3pt operation. I am waiting on 4 ripper teeth I ordered that will have 4 position adjustment that will be installed in the front 4 pockets , I plan on getting to the Hydraulic hoses and fittings this week ,the trans conversion has been done along with the spool and rear remotes so its just a matter of getting the hoses made and installed. I will say using scrap steel presents a lot of issues 1

peter lena 8,588 #3 Posted October 9, 2021 @Jrain looks like a nice project , only thing i might add to is the single center pull area , your tractor mechanical advantage , could possibly twist or bend that single pull point . all my pulling units have a 3 point Y , hook up to a trailer hitch / ball , making swap outs very easy . regularly tow a weighted lawn spiker , no issues , just my own experience . your work looks good , pete
Skwerl58 702 #4 Posted October 9, 2021 That is a great looking piece of equipment. When you complete it we would love to see a video of it in use.

Jrain 276 #10 Posted October 14, 2021 Howdy folks , Ok will make a Video when I finish it up , as usual I am running behind , I though I would have had the time this week to get er done ,but had to turn my attention towards so many other projects it would make your head spin , its weeks like these that make me say to myself , I thought retirement was suppose to be like those commercials I see on TV . but as soon as I get back on the Wheel horse and finish this part up I will make a working video ,and I will be posting more on my Mid mount hydraulic lift and angle dozer blade when I start fabricating . Thanks for all the comments and replies .
Jrain 276 #11 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Howdy all and Happy New year , Well I was able to make some progress on my pull gravel grader today and was able to make a test run ,I was not going to test it because I had very low temps overnight, and today it did not get above 24 degrees things were pretty frozen but i figured if it works in these temps Its a winner . My bad I did not make a start to finish Video because I so involved with doing this test section of road that has not had anything done in at least 12 years and I will say I am very happy with the results , I do have to make one adjustment on the lift height , I will need to move and re weld the lift arm in a better position to give me more versatility on my cutting depth and also do all the final mounting points for the hoses and quick connections and order the four ripper teeth , other then that this homemade grader has exceeded my expectations ,And so did the C120 it did not even flinch pulled like a champ the video I took really does not show much , It was shot on my last few passes ,but if you look up the road at my turn around point you can see what the road started like , well scratch the video tryed to upload it something about MB limit and I do not know anything about all that stuff. but here are a few pictures Edited January 4, 2022 by Jrain image replacement 1 4

Pullstart 62,809 #15 Posted January 4, 2022 @Jrain awesome improvement to the drive! If you have a Google account, you can upload to YouTube quite easily and share the video here. It actually performs much better than uploading direct to RedSquare.

It also saves the Red square website memory. It also makes it so folks like me who are using mobile phones most of the time can get to see the video. I can't download stuff like that very often because it stuffs my phone with data.

Your homemade grader looks a little bit better then mine I think maybe not better , I see you would have no issues with moving a lot of material from location to location , where my design can not move in bulk , but you sure got me thinking about that , maybe I can add a removable back plate to enclose it for more material handling when I need to , kind of turn it into to a Box Blade when needed .

Yup, mine handles a lot of material. perfect for grading gravel stone, lacks a bit in the dirt department tho. I am thinking of making it wider and install some weights on it.
