And here's a pic of a chicken barn at a stop for me today.

Stopped the truck.

Shut off the engine.

Heard the chickens. Looked over to see....

THAT IS AWESOME! I love the cold and snow! :D

I am actually starting to get my plowing machine prepared. Might get the chains installed today just to be prepared! :banana-dance:

@Evguy ...you've seen my driveway. THAT is what gets plowed with my L-157... B)

your driveway is considerably longer than mine. I’m only plowing about 200 feet unless I do the neighbors too. I’m using the c20 for plowing, no plows for horses

Yessir... and considering that the L-157 is obviously a manual transmission machine... it does give you an arm workout... :P

I've tried using two different pickups as plow rigs in the past. I had a Toyota Tacoma at one point that went back to its original owner so they could warranty the frame during the recall.

I also had a late 70s GM square body.

Didn't have a lot of money into it but I also didn't have the money to repair and maintain it. That was quite a while ago in a very different part of my life.

I think the Toyota had a 6 or 6.5 plow. The GM was a little wider. 7.5?

Odd as it sounds to a lot of people I really did not prefer using the trucks to move snow.

Back then my driveway was substantially smaller than the layout that we have now. But even then I really preferred to use a walk behind snowblower.

Nowadays Trina and I have quite a large area that we need to remove the snow from and with the addition of the pole barn this year it'll be even bigger.

Both of us like the freedom and ability to move around that using a snow blower or the tractors gives us.

For the most part I'm a manual transmission tractor  person through and through.

When my moveability was becoming a little Limited I would be pretty close to worn out by the time I got done plowing with a 48" snow blade. Manual lift.

Having decided that I wanted to use the @wallfish created 60" wide masterpiece I felt like it was time to buy an Automatic.

It is. A game changer. No way around it.

Might be worth putting to consideration your next build be a hydro constructed specifically for moving snow.

The Steiner c-20 is a beast plowing snow, I had plow trucks before but prefer the smaller vehicle, all hydraulic so I probably don’t stay as warm as Don. :occasion-santa:

Normally there isn’t much to see outside my office window other than the parking lot, but I had a new piece of scenery out there recently and it was worth a picture…

Apparently the driver rear ended somebody on the road (Old Route 66 FWIW) and both front airbags popped.  They left the car in our driveway overnight and it ended up as you see it by morning.  We had to let it sit 5 days (some law or regulation…) before we could have it picked up.  At some point the expired temporary tags were removed presumably by the owner/abandoner.   We caught somebody trying to steal the battery out of it and shooed them away.  On day 6 a rollback came and took it…good riddance.

Your views are much better than mine.

You should have kept the battery. And seats. And anything else sellable to recoup the land rental fee.

Best of both worlds. Push it with the hoe tractor using the front bucket to lift it. Not sure where it is now but I had made a blade bracket that fit in the front tach a matic. It was super simple on and off so the bucket could be used if needed too. I used to pile it down a hill in a certain spot. Easier to just blow all that krap with a big 2 stage so that's what I use now.

That front bracket for the arm supports comes off now so you can add stuff for that front tach a matic. You'll see a pc of angle bolted on now. Even a blower and use the bucket for lift (and down pressure with a chain inside 2 pcs of pipe for the connection)

I'll check that out!

Thanks!

I think the five day period was because the car was debatably on the edge of our property and in the easement on the public road.  I assume this is to allow the owner to know where it is and pick it up without incurring extra costs or penalties rather than rubbing salt in the wounds of having a broken down car and also needing to track it down and pay an impound lot.

I assume had it been completely on our property we could have done whatever we wanted with it.  More than one of us suggested putting it in the scrap metal bin.

But in this day and age, who knows…

I don't think I ever posted this on the forum, but our blue Ranger was sitting in a parking lot in Indianapolis while we went into the building on business. When we came out, there were shoe marks on the exhaust tips from where the... knuckleheads... tried to break off the exhaust tips and the exhaust system. Keep in mind... that car has a... VERY expensive custom exhaust system. The people who tried to do it managed to break one of the exhaust hangers... but my guess is... they got scared off before they could really do damage.

But yeah... people are something else.

I put specific lug nuts on that car... as the rims that are on that car aren't exactly cheap either... and there were only a handful of those rim sets made in America... so there aren't any replacements.

Bottom line... here in Indiana... if it isn't chained down or locked... it is game for thugs. Believe me, with well over $10,000 in machinery tucked in our shop... I make sure to lock the shop doors EVERY night to avoid scenes like you posted.

Stuff like that should really make us more careful with our belongings!!!
