You've spoiled them! Next thing ya know they'll be knocking on your back door!!

WHX?? 48,815 #206 Posted March 20, 2022 (edited) Check this out guys... helped a guy about 1/2 mile down the road and he had this in his yard yesterday. Couple other neighbors saw it to. He's been hanging out near a shooting preserve where then release pheasants so ya know what he's been snacking on. Looks healthy & sure does have cool markings. Ed Kennell 38,171 #207 Posted March 20, 2022 Just be careful. It allways worries me when I see wild critters that don't show normal fear of humans.

Do you mean like “friendly” raccoons that come ambling right up towards you in the middle of the day just before you run like mad to get inside?

WHX?? 48,815 #211 Posted March 21, 2022 Lol ...good pic ther Ed. ... relax fellas ..... I always carry when working around the ranch and a bit beyond. Had an 'oppsum that wanted to get unruly with me once and normally they scoot at the first sign of trouble. This guy was definitely disturbed but he went to catfish and turtle food. Bob now I think in talking with my neighbor thought his chickens were pheasants ... understandable. He even told me he could suffer a few losses in chickens if he thought the Bob would stand a chance of breeding around here and we have a huntable population here. Not likely as we think this guy is just passing through. Just not enought deep forests to sustain them. Plenty of rabbits tho. Still a good photo op. 2

Ed Kennell 38,171 #214 Posted March 24, 2022 Picked up this guy for $2 at the auction yesterday. I buy the old mounts just for the glass eyes that sell for $15-$20/pair. This mount really looks old, but actually has a modern style foam form that I can use. They sell for $80-$90 bucks. I'll take it apart and use it to mount next falls monster buck. The old antlers will become garden art.
