SylvanLakeWH 25,604 #26 Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) Our yard this afternoon… suburbs… southeast Michigan… yikes! Where’s the bow when you can’t use it…! Edited November 9, 2021 by SylvanLakeWH 2
WHX?? 48,833 #27 Posted October 27, 2021 When Kev and I went on our score I had chops and steaks soaking and before we left I told Cinnndaayyy to not forget to massage the zip lock marinade bags occasionally. You know Ed ...I butterflied the loins and one has to work them to distribute the marinade. Since Kev and I were gone for the bulk of the day it was her chore to play with the meat!

WHX?? 48,833 #31 Posted October 27, 2021 (edited) Back on topic here Ed ..yes the leaves have finally started to turn and fall here. Weird fall here fer sure who ever heard of lilacs losing their leaves and then blooming again late summer? Butternut's lost all their leaves in a day. Very cold crisp clear nites and a couple of good frosts on the pumpkins. Gettin the fever a tad here now and got out the x- bow and practiced and picked up right where I left off last year so should be good to go. Went out and cleared the stands of coon poop and made sure they were usable and SAFE. Not seeing much for activities on the whitetails part but no matter. I just love sittin in a stand with peace and quiet. Not much for rut practices here yet but a few promising signs. Edited October 27, 2021 by WHX??
Pullstart 62,917 #32 Posted October 27, 2021 @SylvanLakeWH next time he comes snooping ‘round your horses, tell’um the deer pasture is about 2.5 hrs west of ya! 1

Most of the corn is still standing which contributes to the road kills. I'll get back in the stand next week for a few days.
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,999 #34 Posted October 27, 2021 I haven't been out hunting in a while. Too much warm weather, wind, and had a stomach bug last weekend (that was real fun). One of the guys I hunt with got a nice one Saturday evening (pictured below) and earlier that week there were 8 different buck in the field at one time, so the activity is picking up. 3

Most does not come off until well into Nov. They claim the dryness of later summer is helping dry the corn on the stalk earlier.
Pullstart 62,917 #36 Posted October 28, 2021 (edited) Haven’t even picked up my bow this year. Seems right on track for normal busy schedule. I figured it’s time to pop a couple rounds off the 450 mag before our 11/15 gun opener. not bad, for a blustery day. The first shot, I was testing the wind and aimed a bit right. The second one is about the best I can do. Both are kill shots in my book! Edited October 28, 2021 by Pullstart Added photo 1
rjg854 11,387 #37 Posted November 8, 2021 Another one of those hundred yard shots with a phone Tried to zoom in to make it more seeable I think this is the same guy from last year that was in my back lawn only time will tell if it'll end up there again. 3 1
Mike'sHorseBarn 2,999 #38 Posted November 8, 2021 (edited) The deer were moving in pa last week big time! Lot's dead on the roads. Dad and I each got bucks this week and saw a lot of activity in the woods. Edited November 8, 2021 by Mike'sHorseBarn 1

Pullstart 62,917 #41 Posted November 8, 2021 On my trip to MD this weekend, Rylee saw a nice buck on the side of the highway on 76 I believe, then close to @JoeM’s place we saw a dandy right on the side of the road, watching cars go by. He was surely related to bowinkle!
WHX?? 48,833 #42 Posted November 8, 2021 Evidently Mr. Bullwinkle was not photogenic Kev?!?!? Side of the driveway painting a set of weights after work around 3 when I hear the dog barkin. Figured he was pestering the cat and look around the corner to see Mr Winkles cousin standing there looking at us. Whipped out my phone for a pic and fumbled with it only gettin a selfie video before Winkles hit the high road with the dog in hot pursuit. Crap I says he was a dandy old lady ain't never gonna believe this. Wait a minute I got a trail camera out there maybe got one of the dog and this bruiser having a stare down ...... nope! This is the one tho after pulling the chip. Not good pics but you get the idea. Dog don't cotton much to deer in the yard but she wan't gonna mess with this one! 1

Pullstart 62,917 #48 Posted November 10, 2021 Running to town at quarter to 1, saw a nice buck out in my field chasing does. I am too stubborn or dumb to practice shooting bow, and too busy to devote time to sitting during bow season. I know it’s the best time to sit, especially to watch activity. And good news if you miss, they don’t seem to mind too much and come on back again! Next Monday… it’ c’mere deer!
Ed Kennell 38,239 #49 Posted November 11, 2021 Had a buck cross the field at 6:15 this AM. Out of bow range at 80 yards. A cold front is coming in, may be the deer will start moving these last few days of bow season.
Pullstart 62,917 #50 Posted November 11, 2021 Here’s a nice one. Maybe the buck I saw yesterday chasing does. He was about 200 yards from this camera site. It’s supposed to rain and snow through Sunday, Monday is our gun opener.
