Split 2-Piece Weights

Looking at a set of 2-piece weights for my tractor. Same as the ones pictured below (picture from Google).

 

They are 30 pounds for the pair, so 15 pounds per half.

 

Has anybody run these before? If so, do you know if they will fit inside the rear wheels like the cub weights?

I do not have any weights like that , but they do look like they would fit over the hub.

I thought that also, just don't know how thick they are.  If they would stick out enough to be a problem with the body.  Being only 15 lbs. each most likely would be ok.

Those look like Massey Ferguson weights and yes they will fit in the back of the rim with out issue. I have a double stack of the Cub weights on the inside on my Raider 12 and there is room for one more.

I picked these up last summer I think, or maybe it was the summer before. Want to put these one the outside and the split ones pictured above on the inside.

 

I've been looking for a pair of the cub weights, but everybody is asking $100+ for a pair.

Hard to find a deal on wheel weights. I found two 50 lb weights a guy had on his cub cadet and he only wanted 50 for them. Once I got his address, I passed tomorrow’s traffic to get there. Front weights can be pricey too depending.

You got that right Slim. Correct front weights must be made of some semi precious metal judging by the asking prices! That is why I made 2 sets out of flat cast iron barbell weights. A local guy buys and sells used gym equipment - got these 25 pounders for 50 cents a pound a few years ago. Funny, the guy asked what hole size I needed and I said it did not matter. He replied "Oh, you're making wheel weights, eh??"

Those look like original  Bronc. You can remove the wheel without taking the weights off but something I wouldn't want to do on a regular basis... or without studs. 

I was seducing the pooch and missed out on this Cub  set from @cschannuth & he was gonna let me have them for 150 which I thought was a good deal.

Suitcase weights are are hard to find around here, well not real hard but when you do look out $$$ ! 

 

I also stupidly passed on a running driving B Hood for 500 and it had 300 worth of weights on it!

If I recall correctly, I paid $180 for what you see in that pic (wheels, tires, weights and chains). Chains are mis-matched, but I didn't want them anyways. Have them just hanging on the wall right now.

180 is not a great deal for those but very fair I think. Turns into great tho with the rest.

Thanks WHX??. The 854 is a special build of mine - reinforced for plowing. Has the 8 Speed out of the C81's production sister.

I like the flat large diameter front weights a lot - keeps the snow out!!

Paid $65 for a set of Cub weights that are on the frt. of my Power King. Paid $60 for a set of frt. WH weights. Both times at a tractor show from guys who should have known better.

Sometimes weights fall into your lap Like when I bought this Roach Coach for the mid grader. 

 

There were 2 40lb. discs on the other wheel that fit nicely on HHHOOOWWWAAARRRDDD!!!

Nothing wrong with that at all. Looks good to boot. I made rear weights out of an old set of 50 lb plates.

Looks like I will be pocking them up Saturday. Will update when I have them.

Picked them up this afternoon. They need a coat of paint, but I don't think I did too bad. Paid $75 for them.

 

Now to figure out the bolts I need for them. Need them long enough to go through the WH weights + these.

 

 

Also, on the way home, I hit a tag sale. Picked up this old school vernier caliper for $12. Again, not a steal, but a decent price I feel. Been looking for one for the garage, but didnt really want to roll the dice with a HF unit, or pay out the butt for a high end caliper.

I would have easily give $75.00 for the weights , I just do not see them that much around here.

Ever since I posted this pic, it's been bugging me, First I noticed there is no valve stem cap, That's bad enough, but what I am really wondering is, Do I have these weights on inside out? I don't know if I ever tried turning them around.

What's the other side look like?  If it's smooth then I would think, yes.  But then again, would those protrusions stick so far in that they would keep the weights from sitting all the way down like they are now.

If I don't have this tractor buried too deep in the shed, I will find out today.

 

Not buried deep, only had to move 2 other tractors. Weights can't possibly go on the other way.
