Sailman 1,291 #1 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) I have had snippets of information about a wheel horse tractor called a "motor grader". Fella had one for sale but it was sold before I saw it. I cannot find out any information here on this forum or internet about a specific "motor grader". It appears to have a longer frame than the common tractors. not just talking about the mid blade attachment but an actual "grader frame". Any and all information, links, pictures, etc would be greatly appreciated! Pro's, cons, collectable? Thanks. Lee1977 6,633 #2 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) I'm sure some owner has made one, but they are not factory original if that is what you want to know. I have seen a couple modified don;t remember what brand they were. Unless they went full hydraulic I don't any advantage. With what little they extended the frame you won't see any difference in the quality of the work then a standard WH and grader blade. 8ntruck 6,989 #3 Posted October 4, 2021 A Super C with a belly blade? This would have a wheelbase about 7" longer than the usual Wheel Horse.
ebinmaine 67,214 #4 Posted October 4, 2021 Not something I've heard of as being done by the factory but I'd be super curious to see pictures...
Achto 27,502 #5 Posted October 4, 2021 I did see a home built one many moons ago. They moved the engine to the rear, the hood was placed on the rear as well facing backwards. In front was a stretched tube frame with a fully hydraulic center blade. The only grader movement that it didn't have was the adjustable tilt on the front wheels. Of course no pictures that I can find, Sorry.
kpinnc 11,877 #6 Posted October 4, 2021 (edited) Seems like I remember something like this back in the Yahoo groups days. I see several flavors online of the concept- Simplicity, AC, cub, but not Wheel Horse. I should add- I thought I had seen a Wheel Horse version, but there don't seem to be any pics still up of it. Not saying that it doesn't exist, just saying I also can't find pictures. Edited October 4, 2021 by kpinnc 3

Sailman 1,291 #8 Posted October 4, 2021 Thanks for all the input. Guess that's why I could find little information. Here are some pictures of the current one. Let me know what you think. A home made version I guess?? Odd thing is this is the second one I have run across. Previous seller had one but was sold before I could check it out. Any collector value? Sailman 1,291 #9 Posted October 5, 2021 Got one more picture here. Ok wheel horse gurus.....sounds like a unicorn here.... Frame looks original to me......What do you all think??? Love to hear the comments.
ebinmaine 67,214 #10 Posted October 5, 2021 VERY interesting piece. I'd say certainly home shop made. Early 60s rear sheet metal with 70 and up hood. Engine is set way back from original to keep correct distance to transmission. Interesting muffler as well. Collector value would literally be based on what 2 collectors are willing to outbid each other up too. I like it.
Handy Don 12,125 #11 Posted October 5, 2021 Stretched frame, probably with parts from a donor? Engine and hoodstand seem properly spaced to me.
