Had an old buddy that used to say: "Looks good from my house!" You've seen my tractors in person. They aren't perfect in any way, but they are good enough for me. Yours look great!
Horse Newbie 7,069 #979 Posted March 25, 2022 Ut-oh… page 40, and a FEW pages back I made a prediction that I would finish the Work Horse in 50 pages. Tonight after work I bolted on the floorboards, the center console panel where the shifters are, belt guard, and left side panel. I laid the seat pan/ rear fender in place to see how the holes were lining up… off a little, but a scratch awl down through the bolt holes will line it all up. Some of the holes are slightly slotted from the factory for this reason I reckon. Tomorrow hopefully I will pick up some LED taillights from Walmart, and some stair tread grip stuff from Lowes and get that done. 2 7

Horse Newbie 7,069 #983 Posted March 26, 2022 Stopped by Walmart and got some LED taillights for the WorkHorse and by Lowes for some anti-skid stair tape for the floorboards… Used the old rubber from my 1994 520H floorboards and traced out the pattern… cut them out, and stuck them on… Also put on a few more decals… 2

peter lena 8,626 #986 Posted March 26, 2022 @Horse Newbie , thanks for the great Bild pictures , noticed a red grease on your front king pin area , lucas red grease ? did not see any on your related hook ups , thats the time to insure lubrication for easy use. your front toe adjustment is easily helped with those hemi joints , sure there is a square setting on that , keeping things equal . eye balled mine in years ago , with no uneven wear issues . obviousely take advantage of your build state , and correct or change possible issues . changing that wiring location , from tight to smooth , cable wrapping all wires , added grounding from battery ground bolt point , to related ignition and headlights , really enhances wiring issues. choke and throttle cables , should be set where THEY WANT TO BE , in the smoothest / easiest resting movement point . super lube those cable cables , you are doing a very good job , keep it going , pete
Horse Newbie 7,069 #987 Posted March 26, 2022 Thanks Pete… trying to look at and address as many of these exact issues as I can… I appreciate the reminders… 1
Horse Newbie 7,069 #988 Posted March 27, 2022 (edited) After the OT at work today I came home and wired the taillights, put the seat pan and the seat on… On the video… wait for it… Are the Work Horses short frame tractors ?… seems like I’m awful close to the steering wheel, and the seat is adjusted all the way back… IMG_0633.MOV Edited March 27, 2022 by Horse Newbie 3
Jeff-C175 7,202 #989 Posted March 27, 2022 (edited) Don't quote me... I could be wrong... but I think your seat bouncy thingies are in the wrong holes. My belief is based on both of my machines being that way... forever... and at least the C-175 I know for a fact was that way from the factory. They go in the yellow circled holes. Putting them further forward and inboard places the weight closer to the fender support underneath. With them out at the corners like that it's likely that you'll eventually bend the fender pan due to no support under them. Horse Newbie 7,069 #991 Posted March 27, 2022 (edited) @Jeff-C175 How do you cipher this ? You think they did it different from year to year ?…. or maybe they were careless with their exploded views ? Edited March 27, 2022 by Horse Newbie
Horse Newbie 7,069 #992 Posted March 27, 2022 (edited) I am almost 99.9% sure I put them back in the holes they were in. I can check the old seat pan tomorrow and see where the wear spots are. Now you got me worrying about bending my fender/ seat pan… Edited March 27, 2022 by Horse Newbie

I've seen them both ways but who knows if an owner moved them at some point in time? Edited March 27, 2022 by Jeff-C175

Horse Newbie 7,069 #995 Posted March 27, 2022 And I’ve already stuck down some resting pads on my seat pan for them to sit on… and it has Gorilla Glue on it… ain’t coming up…

Won't hurt anything. You could try it the way you have it now. Maybe have a helper watch as you sit to see if you get any flex in the pan.

Lee1977 6,659 #998 Posted March 27, 2022 I got one each way. The 520 in close and the 312 is out at the edge. The 312 is close to where the pan bends up It's not going the bend it.
