I wanted something a little lighter as I believe the Work Horses were lighter than the Rustoleum Smoke Gray, but with the short supply of spray paints, I decided to use what I could get before it’s all gone. Thanks for the compliment… not perfect, but good enough for me.

Bill D 1,926 #957 Posted March 16, 2022 Very nice. I talked another member here into spraying his foot rests with bed liner in a can. It took three coats, but they came out great.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts if you step on that stuff when it's cold or snowy or whatever or just raining. If the traction is okay, I'd consider doing a coat of bed liner on my own steps.
Horse Newbie 7,074 #961 Posted March 19, 2022 Started taking off decals so I can sand the hood… Then I started sanding the hood… According to the color of the paint underneath the decals, Rustoleum Smoke Gray is going to be pretty close.

Regular Rustoleum takes along time to dry completely and gums up when sanding. Wet sanding with good wet dry sand paper helps but it needs to be completely dry. And since I was sanding a run, the paint was thicker.
Horse Newbie 7,074 #967 Posted March 22, 2022 (edited) Laid some more paint down on the running boards, belt guard, and left side panel. All I have left to paint is the hood ( more sanding to be done ), and the air cleaner box… I think… Now that I painted the parts, next pull weeds in the flower beds… Edited March 22, 2022 by Horse Newbie 1

Never heard of “hood paint “… I will do my best to sand carefully and try not to get the runs, but like all the previously painted pieces, the hood will probably have at least a bug and some dust specs… I can’t help it… I have to know my limitations… 2 1
