I went on a road trip to get it… did not know it was gray until I got there. I was wanting black. It will work since the tractor is gray.

Horse Newbie 7,069 #905 Posted February 20, 2022 Starting to mull over painting the seat pan, hood, side panels, and running boards. I’m thinking I will do the seat pan first… that way I can still take it for a spin before the tractors done… Anyways, look at the back edge of the seat pan. It has been bent a little. Would you guys fix this ? ( I know some of you will say yes ! ) The only way I know how is maybe lay it on a thick folded towel and wack it will a rubber mallet… but I am concerned with making another dent. 2

Massage carefully and slowly. Don't just smack the @#$&#@ it of it.
SylvanLakeWH 25,557 #908 Posted February 20, 2022 I’d use a solid backer - small 2x4 perhaps - and gently tap her back into shape…

Lee1977 6,659 #910 Posted February 20, 2022 You only learn when you try. We need a better picture looking from the out side. Is it bent into the offset up about 3/4" or just the edge,

My guess is they didn't change as it would have cost them more to change it.
Jeff-C175 7,202 #913 Posted February 21, 2022 The only thing that might concern me about trying to get that dent out is that when metal bends, it also STRETCHES. You might find that when you try to take out the bend that you end up moving the dent to another area. But I would try myself. Tap a few times and evaluate. Continue if successful, or stop and live with it if not.
Horse Newbie 7,069 #914 Posted February 21, 2022 (edited) Yeah… I GOTTA mess with it a little… but most likely will move the dent like you say. Not gonna get crazy with it… It is actually dented up where the “Work Horse” label is… not too bad but it is there. Lee1977 6,659 #915 Posted February 21, 2022 (edited) If you need help with it bring it up I have most of a old set of body tools, hammers and dolly's. Those areas need support on the other side when hammering them and they are not completely flat. Kelvin's suppose to come over tomorrow afternoon some time around 5:00 we could have a mini get together. If you would like to come up let me know I'll PM you my address. . I seen some enamel paint on there in the little bottles. Would enamel be okay to touch up powder coated wheels ? Also have you seen it at Walmart ? Can it be re-activated? What if one were to sprinkle some powder into a scratch and somehow apply heat to fuse it to the existing? Would this work?
