22x9-12 Tire

Recommended Posts

TC10284

I need to replace a tire on a 312-8. The ones on it now are 22x9.00-12. All I can find online is 22x9.50-12

Where are you guys getting them? Or do I need to just get two 22x9.50-12?

I could probably get by with a tube, but even having trouble locating one of those in that size.

A 23x__-12 is typically easier to find, and still fits.  That tends to be the route most people take, be it 8 or 10” wide.

If your looking for a perfect match, both size and tread pattern, try posting a wanted ad in our classifieds.
Include your location and a pic of the tire tread.

23X10.50 Deestone will be similar size as that 9.50.   They are in expensive and good tires.

I was hoping to avoid having to get two new rears. Would I notice much height difference if I went with a 22x9.50-12? Half an inch width would be the obvious answer. Wondering if I'd notice that when mowing or otherwise.

22” is the height and 9 or 9.5 is the width so in theory you would see no difference in height. That being said, a 22” or 23” tire will vary in height between brands. This applies to widths as well.
I still say try to find a good used one. You could probably find one on a rim and not incur dismounting and remounting cost. Just bolt it on!

Age probably has more to do with it than we give it credit for, I have had tires from the same manufacturer with the same size on the sidewall measure very differently with the only difference being age.

Manufacturers have been down sizing products to save money in manufacturing.. That is the risk in attempting to replace one..

They round up in the center when they have enough air to hold up the tractor didn't like the way they look. I'll PM my address if you want to come get them.

To answer your question a bit about the 9 v. 9.5 width, a little air pressure adjustment could compensate for any wedge you put in the tractor due to any slight height differences.  Y’all should know that, you’re in NASCAR country!  :ROTF:
