I was in Lowe's yesterday. They have their paint rack filled. Not only did they NOT HAVE any Regal Red, they don't even have a spot for it anymore? :( :ranting:

I went looking for paint today. Lowes and Wally world both looked like this:

I didn't like it when toilet paper ran out, but I understood what drove some to buy 80 rolls a day... But why in the world is spray paint running out?

Whenever you buy spray paint, remember this picture so you will check to see is some idiot did a test spray and now the nozzle is dried shut.

Finding that more and more paint is not coming out of brand new, untested cans.

Such a drag man!

I do believe I seen some Regal Red at an Advance Auto a month or two ago...had not even thought of them.

Actually it never dawned on me before the supply chain fiasco to even think about auto parts stores...see how a guys mind gets trained to go to one spot.

I need something...Lowes...

I have been hitting my local hardware though...

When did they tell you it would be delivered?  I tried to order 6 cans this morning and it said estimated delivery  DECEMBER 10 !  I backed away from that.

Just got back from Home Depot, bought two more cans.  There were 6 on the shelf and a couple more unopened cases on the stock shelves above.  Website said they had 25 cans in stock.  Same price as Amazon (or even a couple cents cheaper)

On a side note... regarding supply chain issues... I tried to re-stock my oil burner nozzle stash this week.  My regular supplier is saying that they won't have some of the ones that I need in stock until MAY of 2022 !!!

The listing said about a week I think.

I did see a listing that said " Item to be restocked", or something like that- in a month.

I stayed away from that listing ...

I ordered 6 cans of Krylon spray paint from Amazon about 6 months ago. The box was a "six-pack", factory sealed. One weighed 12 ounces, one weighed 10 ounces, and one weighed in at 8 ounces. They were all supposed to be 14 ounces net weight. The nozzles on two of the cans looked used. How does that happen in a sealed box? Amazon gave me my money back and told me to keep the paint.

Maynard -- have you used the Kraylon Osha Red cans???????? I don't typically see RS members reference Kraylon on here --- i had the local paint store do a scanned computer match on a clean piece of WH tin I had kept indoors on a shelf i have rarely used. The Krylon Osha Red is a pretty close match for a Horse -- a little deeper, and bit darker, than what some of the other Regal Red or IH Red look like, but very close -- and looks nice.

No. Only Krylon Farm & Implement IH Red. Pretty good match, but as most all Krylon products in spray cans, they are lacquer based and will lift other non-cured paints just like paint remover. The Krylon Farm & Implement in the quart cans is alkyd, so you can add hardener. You can paint alkyd over lacquer, but not the reverse. The quart cans are a couple of shades lighter as well.

i have just entered the world of spray cans and WH so can you tell a newbie what you mean by "lift" ? Does that mean it peels or disintegrates or what? What is non cured - does that mean the Kraylon can is ok on older WH paint thats cured....... but not newer paint............ like 24-48 hrs, or one hour? I'm just learning all this stuff... thanks
