JustinW.73 224 #1 Posted September 27, 2021 Hey guys. Just picked up an old 854 with the 32 inch deck. I’m having issues with the deck running while the pedal is not engaged. squonk 41,040 #8 Posted September 27, 2021 My 604 we bought new never had the metal idler tang thingy. Belt would drag a tiny bit and the blades rotated a little when off. No big deal. Belt is 1/2" X 28" 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

71_Bronco 1,072 #10 Posted September 28, 2021 My commando 8 did the same thing, gear drive deck spun super slowly when disengaged. I tried adjusting the guide on the pulley numerous times. There is also supposed to be a bent steel rod that helps guide the belt too, attached to the block. Its part 85 in the diagram below. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
