jake1056 7 #1 Posted September 24, 2021 I’ve lurked on this forum for a bit, as I’m interested in garden tractors in general, and wheel horse tractors in particular. We’ll, I just picked up my first wheel horse - a 1056. The original 10 hp Kohler has been replaced with a 12 hp K301. Bought it with a mower deck, snowblower, and snow plow attachments. It seems to run well, but I have a lot to learn about the machine. Thanks for hosting this forum! 1 5
ebinmaine 67,596 #3 Posted September 24, 2021 Interesting fuel tank set-up. Any thoughts what the engine is from? Looks like the wiring spaghetti should be checked over. Maybe flip the battery so the terminals aren't so close to the metal gas tank. Nice find!!
Pullstart 62,906 #5 Posted September 24, 2021 silly question, does Kansas get enough snow to plow?
8ntruck 7,016 #6 Posted September 24, 2021 to the forum. Looks like you have a reasonable machine there. Lots of help here. Don't be shy about asking questions, or asking for advice.
Ed Kennell 38,216 #8 Posted September 24, 2021 (edited) to the Jake. The "1256" looks like she's ready to work. Very interesting plow frame. I've never seen that type of blade angle control. Maybe Garry @gwest_ca can shed some info. Edited September 24, 2021 by Ed Kennell
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,046 #9 Posted September 24, 2021 The pin release was a pedal at the base of the lever. 1961 model BD-4271 1962 model BD-4262 1963 model BD-4263 In 1964 they moved the pin release to a handle on the long lever. Garry 1

When my wife and I went to pick it up the seller asked how many we owned. The wife asked if people actually collected these little red tractors; twenty one years later she knows that we do. 2

Goldnboy 926 #17 Posted September 27, 2021 Welcome! @RandyLittrell and I regularly scour the area and its good to see more members close by. I bet that snowblower hasn't had much use knowing how much we get around here.
