Still long ways to go but Rebuilt the carburetor ran new fuel line put new lights in it rewired them need to put a head gasket on it while doing that will check cylinder walls and clean head up then look at the values

Very true lost my dad this past May and alot of rift with the rest of the family. I bought it two years ago all my kids have been on it.

It's what I cut grass with many many moons ago and alot of memories of him mowing, plowing snow, plowing a garden just couldn't let it go now I get to make more memories with it I'm trying to figure out if I should paint it or leave it when I saw it it was already ten years old.

In this world you got 2 kinds o' people. 

You got ya "patina people". 

You got ya "fresh paint people". 

 

My Honey and I usually tend to be the latter. We do like a nice new clean fresh painted machine. 

 

In this case not so much...

Your machine has a long history to you specifically and is still in very good shape. 

 

Mechanically restore it.

Treat the original paint with the advice of the folks here that have done it right. Plenty of elbow grease. 

 

The one thing I'd seriously consider painting is the wheels. 

There's something about an old tractor with original paint and nice newly restored wheels. 

It adds a whole new dimension to the appearance.

Its actually a tad "off white". 

 

There are several shades that are close. 

Trina and I have used Rust-Oleum 2X Navajo White. 

Others prefer a slightly darker color.

Rustoleum Almond white is perfect for me, check it out and you be your own judge, nice machine you have there, like others have said, cherish it, make more memories and most importantly have fun. The one thing Wheel Horses can do that no other can is that they make yard chores fun instead of seeming like work.

I moved a 6,000 pound enclosed trailer yesterday with my 520. It didnt like it and the tractor went up in the air a few times but I held on to get the job done  because I knew it would do it.

Bit far away but you can zoom in on the tractor. 

This is Trina's Pony 657. Engine and wheels are the Rust-Oleum 2X Navajo White.
