All electric resistance heaters are 100% efficient, whatever wattage you are consuming is turned into heat.  Only a heat pump will give more electric heat per watt.  The style of the resistance heaters is just a matter of convenience and quality.

Agreed.  I know electric water heaters (less heat pumps) are rated at 98% efficient due to some heat loss external of the tank in the t-stats and wiring.  :handgestures-thumbupright:

Interesting to read everyone's approach to a warm winter workshop. I've had a warm workshop...........never. Hoping to put something together in the "new to us" (but 230+ YO house). Contractors are finishing up the new garage, so the old 1-1/2 car garage will be a workshop. Not this year, but maybe next to get insulation and heat.

So awesome!  I imagine the garage isn’t that old?

Correct. The garage is probably 1960's or even 1970's vintage. 2x4 framing dressed to 1.5x3.5. New garage will have some room to work as well, but too much to heat.

It’s been a while.  Jamming to some tunes and taking apart tractors.  Happy Thanksgiving!

As crusty as this one is, I can’t believe how tight this steering system is!  Tons of water came out of the trans too.  And stinky gear oil!
