We have a Pond plow for or Senior, I’ll get it in a furrow sooner or later.

 

It’s about a 6.5 hour drive for you but it’d be cool to see you there next year with whatever you bring.

That's a neat conversion. I e been reading/watching the work of @Ed Stoller on the subject. He uses GM LS2 components. 

I bought a kit from him I'll be retrofitting to a '74 C160 Tecumseh engine tractor at some point.

I’m not sure who came up with that idea but has I been more patient I may have kept the HH100 in my Raider.

I can't comment on dirt plowing but I'll state this:

 

My Cinnamon Horse C160 has open diff/no limited slip. It weighs about 1300 lbs in snowplow form with me on it. 

I rarely slip but it certainly does happen. 

 

Trina's Pigpen tractor 867 weighs maybe 950 lbs, give or take. 

It does have limited slip differential. 

I believe her traction is comparable or possibly better than mine.

When I went in October,the 5073 was still in it and it was cool seeing both tires grabbing for traction. I would love to fix that key way seat problem and put it back into service.

The key way seats in the axle shaft ends are opened up too much which led to the right hub walking over to the axle housing. I might see if a machine shop can cut new ones in. I’m not a machinist but I believe the term is broaching? I think that at least pertains to the long keyway cutout on a shaft. These are the half circle shaped key ways.

Have someone cut a full sized keyway groove to match the hub keyway. Then you can use a longer key. 

 

There may be someone here on Redsquare that offers the service. Not sure.

@slim67 I think @WHX?? can broach a new keyway in hubs, i don't think he can mill an axle.

I ground a tapered shaft engine with a handgrinder down to 1 inch and cut in a 1/4 keyway seat. It actually worked.

I cut my own on Project Snowdrift.

 

They were full length. I used a 4.5" angle grinder. I stacked up Forney cut off wheels in conjunction with a Makita cut off wheel.

They are different thicknesses.

Before cutting the slot I do a pre cut on scrap steel to even up the diameters of the wheels.

I drew a centered line on the axle and cut. Then clean it up with a single cut off wheel.

It takes a steady hand and a can do attitude because if you mess up it's a MESS. 

 

I would suggest trying a full slot on some scrap first.

Yes keyways in hubs but not axles at this time.
