Are these just a twist lock 1/4 turn or so?

This is what I did for my round hoods and 953s..

:WRS:  I can't help you with your question, but someone will be along that can.  I have no experience with that series.

yes it is, but the vent springs are too heavy for our little (well maybe just a non-fuel pumped) engines to drain the tank.  By pulling the heavy spring out of the vent, it still holds fuel in but doesn’t hold it back.

The cap is made by "Kelch" and (I think?) is called an 'eared' cap (because of the 1/4" turn) and seem to recall it is a 9"

But. (theres that 'but') they are very difficult to find because of the 'eared', there are hundreds of sizes in threaded but the eared is rare. You might call or email them and ask about that  ---- or just do a deep search for it on the bay,

My last attempt I thought I had found one and ordered it but came in with threads .... so, I just took my dremel and chewed off the threads til it would 'force' fit the tank:thumbs:, worked pretty good. Also the 2-3 I have found were NOT vented, but a 1/16" drill fixed that.

Real simple solution, if it is an eared cap..

Harley Davidson used the same eared fuel cap on their Shovel Head models. The right cap was vented and the left was not on the big twins, make sure you get the vented cap. Tanks on Harleys were gravity fed only so no reason to make any type of adjustment to the cap after you buy it. Readily available from many aftermarket vendors.
