314-h battery drain won't start (thank you post)

First post here. Had to join just to give a big thank you to everyone on this forum that answers questions so well. 

Bought a 1993 314-h with all the attachments.  Was running smoothly for 6 months,  then started draining the battery. Eventually I started disconnecting the neg terminal when I put it away. Then it wouldn't start. Smoke coming from the wires ... Turn the key... nothing.  I started researching and found this site. WOW! Tons of info, ideas and diagrams. 

 

Long story short,  the ignition switch had rusted/shorted and melted a pin off. The starter solenoid was bad, fuel filter was clogged and the fuse connectors were corroded horribly.  I got new parts based on wire diagrams and the manual I got from here, replaced it all by following advice from here, and adjusted the carb from instructions on here. It runs smoothly now, and all credit to the people on this forum!
