Wheelhorse#1 1,669 #1 Posted September 16, 2021 Is this what cause them to come apart ,lots of slop in both of them. This is a 301 I’m going to put new piston, rod and rings along with new valves. this one has never been apart far as I can tell.Decent shape just not well taken care of but not a ton of hrs on it. Looks like the consensus is ,most say just remove the balance gears ? https://youtube.com/shorts/rMQy2qG25jc?feature=share 1

Wheelhorse#1 1,669 #5 Posted September 17, 2021 Thanks folks ,that’s just what I thought. The other one in back ,the needle bearing was just about gone and the c-clip was barely holding on. Looking forward to bringing this one back, these motors are a pleasure to work on but can get a little pricey. Well, in my opinion worth it …they just don’t make em like this anymore
