1975 Wheel Horse C100

Recommended Posts

Nizm0

Hey guys! I’m new to this forum. I currently have a 1975 Wheel Horse C100 from what I can tell. It came with a box blade attachment and also a mowing deck which appears to be the 42” mode. It has the double pulley on the middle blade (smaller puller underneath the larger top one) and has a key way on the pulley to hold it in place instead of the double D setup. I am currently trying to replace the belts on it but for some odd reason I am coming up stumped. Does anybody know the belt sizes for both the deck and the engine to deck belt? Lengths maybe? I would add a photo but I am unsure how. The model numbers and serial are also unreadable from the deck. 😞

If you look down in our manual section you should be able to find all the manuals for your tractor and deck.

Welcome to Red Square

The 42" is the width of cut - not the width of the deck.

42" side discharge deck with the belt dimensions added to this page. Click on the fuzzy picture

May not be the same deck model but the belts will be the same.

Here are some photos I have. I don’t have any great photos of the deck on my phone but y’all might be able to figure out which one it is by the pictures. If you can please let me know!

So from what I gathered this is what I need to replace both the deck belt and the drive belt? Drive belt 102742 replaced by 94-2501 (1/2" x 103")
Spindle belt 6738 (1/2" x 86")
Somehow I previously got the part number 1594 which came as a 107” belt. It was obviously pretty long  compared to these.

Thank you buddy. I’m also restoring a 1985 Case garden tractor which will be cool. Has a 12hp Koehler. All Hydrostatic even the deck Needs Jesus now but it’s in good hands.

The 42" deck you have if all the deck pulleys are  3/4" keyed the deck is from the early 80's. There is a possibility that have all been replaced as the mower base changed very little over the years.

@Nizm0 beautiful and also rugged tractor!!💪👍 With an 8 speed!! You can’t get much more bulletproof than that!! It is a good idea to change the rear end oil, you will notice a 1/4” Allen key right ahead of the hitch. I also saw that you have the loud muffler! I too, have a 10hp Kohler on my Power King, and it had that muffler on it too… now it has this.  From @jimkemp. It’s way quieter!

That’s a good looking machine. Deck looks nice and solid too. Wheel horse decks are always rotten by me.

Great looking tractor!  I have the same one: 1975 C-100.  It currently has a 36" rear discharge deck, but I'm looking for a 42" deck.

It's nice to see another '75 C-100 out there!

@Ifixoldjunk , you said w/h decks are  always rotten by me , if you want to break the rot cycle on a mower deck , you have to reverse and stop the wet grunge cycle , think about it , drop it regularly , inspect it , carefully clean it out , and let the sun heat it up , while sucking in a lubricant to feed the metal . leave it at a 45 degree angle to the sun , mine get hot and oil soaked , that stains the metal  black , repeat that during the cut cycle , end of year , let it sit upside down with oil soak , on clean deck , for months to kill off the grunge . none of my decks have rot , but they are all stained black with lubricant . prefer lubriplate open gear , cable and chain spray .  just an idea that works , pete

The size of the deck is always identified by the location of the height adjustment lever. 42" will be on the right side.

@Nizm0  those case units were amazingly simplistic  even more so than the wheel horse , the stand out was the inherent strength of them , like the bolens  tractors and gravely  units . nothing fancy , but a solid worker . recently saw a hydro unit that sold for $ 750 , the added bonus was that it was fully serviced. liked the big tire model , pete
