I prefer pull start on the small Kohler engines - no battery to be concerned about our 704 / K161 would start with just a pull or two - almost never more - for 25+ years and barely a good pull - because the pull start mechanism was a bit funky and often would not engage until half pull never touched the points would go years on the same plug used some oil - but not excessive amount still recall one time when cutting grass during late 80's I looked down and saw grass through the top of the mower deck then realized - if I would have known this tractor would live this long I would have cleaned the mower deck more often ! 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
