Chute rod for 79360 snowblower on C-145

Recommended Posts

Picked up a barely used single stage tall chute blower that did not come with a chute rod for the worm gear. Looked around but can't find a used one.

Anyone have an extra? What is the total length of the rod supposed to be in case I need to make something. Winter is coming to MN!

Also noticed blower creeps down when lifted up so cylinder needs attention...seal kit?

Problem with lift creep is not knowing whether it's the valve or the cylinder. The control valves on WHs don't have internal check valves so they will frequently allow the the lifted load to creep down over a couple of days.

Valve kits are available from wheelhorsepartsandmore on our vendor page. They also recondition certain cylinders (call 'em to for specifics).

It's leaking at the control valve that connects to the rear port on the cylinder. Creep down is minutes so rebuild needed. Might as well rebuild cylinder same time as this tractor sat for years which is hard on seals.  Ordered from Lowell in past so that's next. Thanks.

Is it the hydraulic hose fitting that is leaking where it is attached to the control valve???  May only need a new Oriing.  Fitting should be SAE ORB#6 need a Dash 906 O ring...I can mail you a couple if you need them...

Good point.

If the creep is through loss of fluid that is much easier to find and fix than fluid bypassing the seals in either the cylinder or the valve.

Has to be internal.

It's wet at the valve fitting and runs down hose to cylinder. Fluid loss is nothing just few drips on ground and level still full. It's just not able to hold pressure.

I think it's a bad fitting and internal

If fluid loss is negligible, its sounds like two separate issues.

  1. Fluid bypassing a seal in either the cylinder or the valve (and conceivably even both!) ==> the creep
  2. A leaky hose-at-valve connection ==> the drip

Yep that's why I'm just going to rebuild both. Winter not the time to fight with blower. Thanks Don for help.

Thanks Paul for info and offer.
