aemsee 93 #1 Posted September 6, 2021 Picked up a couple snowblowers a couple weeks ago. 2 for $100. Not in great shape. In fact the auger was thrashed. Using some tips from here set to work. Not show quality but hopefully flings snow. 4 3
Handy Don 12,167 #2 Posted September 6, 2021 Looks much improved. Getting the rust off will make the snow stick a lot less.
peter lena 8,588 #3 Posted September 6, 2021 @aemsee, nice save on that ! when you pit that together , put the same detail in your lubrication function . the auger chain drive gear , should use a specific open gear / chain drive lubricant . that will stay with it, another area often neglected is the belt tension spring frame , if its grease lubed , it will follow the spring tension better , helping your drive speed . also detail lube the blower chute base , makes it swing with ease. use a teflon based auger spray , as well as inside chute area . after use I always touch up the lubricants , never letting them dry out , amazing how easily that auger spins up , when its spinning on oil , just my own experience , good snow throwing ! pete
